I haven’t always understood how people could get close to others online, to me it seemed strange, something to be wary of. However, in the past few years I have become good friends with people through baby groups and most recently through blogging. I now see that it isn’t something to be afraid of and in fact it is something quite amazing.
The other day I travelled just over an hour to meet up with the most wonderful, amazing and inspirational lady. You will probably know her, Aby from You Baby Me Mummy. I first read Aby’s blog last summer and instantly loved everything about it. I was lucky enough to meet her soon after and was a little star struck!
We met again at Blogfest in the autumn and over the last few months have chatted more and more over Twitter and Facebook. Aby is, quite honestly, my blog hero. She has worked so hard to achieve so much and she inspires me every day.
She is more than that though, I am now lucky enough to call her a friend, and a great friend at that. She is always there for me when I need her and hopefully I am the same for her. Anyway, before I get too mushy and start bawling my eyes out, here are a few snaps of our day out.
Little G led the way with her map of the park
The girls haven’t seen each other since last summer and are now old enough that they can really enjoy each other’s company. Little G and Baby especially, struck up a little friendship and it was just so lovely to watch them playing happily in the sunshine.

Little G kept falling and Baby reached out and helped her up. Heart melt!
We explored the park, such lovely grounds. Was lovely chatting as we walked along with our girls.

Bit of croquet- because we are posh haha!
Still cannot get a good swing photo!
Time for one last go on the slide before home.
Before we could blink it was time to go home. It was such a lovely day and we all had a fab time. We live quite a distance apart but social media has brought us all together and I am so grateful for that. Just another example of the wonder of blogging really, I never expected to make friends from my little corner of the internet so it has been the best outcome of them all.
Have you made friends online?
