Making Learning Fun #giveaway

I have been a teacher for nearly 10 years now and I still love it as much as the day I started. I do not enjoy the job, anyone who is a teacher will understand what I mean as they will know the pressures we are under. However, I enjoy the act of teaching and that will never change.

making learning fun

I am not a pushy parent at all, if anything I am a little lax on the teaching side of things with my own children. I take the approach that they will learn through play and real life experiences. Everything we do will have some sort of learning element behind it but the girls will never know, all they will see is fun.

Recently though, with Little G being at pre-school 3 mornings a week, she has taken a real interest in writing and the formation of letters. I don’t want to have her sitting down writing letters over and over again but I do want to encourage her if that is something she is interested in.

DSC_0523We were sent some great Alphabet Cards to try, they show each letter in a fun way and comes with a pen to follow the shape. The lid has a rubber on it so you can rub the cards clean and start again.

DSC_0530Little G really enjoyed tracing over the letters and it helped her to recognise each letter by name. The letters are capitals which is the only issue I have as in the UK as teachers we teach lower case first. However, if you have a child aged 5 or above they will start to think about upper case more and more.

How have you taught your child letter formation?

I have a set of cards to giveaway, so if you would like to be in with a chance then complete the rafflecopter below. Good luck!

The prize looks great. But just to let you know, I clicked the "visit us on facebook" link in the rafflecopter widget, and got a "Page not found" error.
