I was going to get some great photos of the girls at various locations this month- except illness has struck the whole household and put the kibosh on that! Both girls have been poorly for pretty much the whole of December so far and so this month’s siblings photos are from the same day as we took our (very organised) me & mine photos for the end of the month. Not that it matters of course but I like to have variation, you know? They capture different moments though so all is well.
I am also publishing this one day earlier than usual. This is because tomorrow is all about LJ- it will be her 2nd birthday! Exactly 2 years ago today my waters broke and our siblings journey began. I packed Little G off to my mum’s and waited anxiously to meet my baby girl. The next day, after a very speedy delivery, she made her entrance. Her very first visitor was her sister and they have been inseparable ever since.
The first few months weren’t very interesting for Little G, after all babies don’t do very much do they? But as time has gone on they have become the very best of friends. This summer has seen the biggest change, with LJ being able to play with, rather than alongside her sister. This has led to many afternoons spent laughing and messing about. They get on so well, I think it is because they are so different. Everyone thinks that being the oldest, Little G is the master of the pair. However LJ is more than able to hold her own and I quite often see her bossing her big sister around.
My happiest moment has been to see LJ talking to Little G. She still refuses to talk to me or anyone else but will chatter away, with some real words, as they play together with their secret games. That is a bond I hope will continue to grow and develop in 2016.
Their relationship has altered with Little G being at school every afternoon now and I can see that LJ is lost for the most part. We play games of course but she misses her partner in crime terribly and is always so excited to go get her at the end of the day. Then once home they snuggle on the sofa for a while before heading off to play a game together.
2015 has been my very first year linking up with all of the #siblings team, I so wish I had started in 2014 when LJ was first here. But I am so glad I have this year to look back on now and am looking forward to seeing them grow and change in 2016!
Here is our siblings year:
Here’s to January!
