Our Flower Themed Week

We are back! We have been so poorly the past few weeks and so have not done anything let alone anything along a theme! We are a little out of the swing of things (I am out of the swing of planning) but we have made a start with a flower theme this week.

flower themed

The inspiration came from pre-school really as they have been talking about plants as part of their theme. Little G came home with a bean and some cress so we have been nurturing them i.e. not killing them!

GROWING CRESS

I have done this many a time but have never thought to do it with Little G. We have managed to water it every day and it has grown well. I am not a fan myself but Little G has decided she is having it for lunch tomorrow (always tomorrow….). It is looking a bit wilted now so will most probably end up in the bin haha!

GROWING A BEANSTALK

We have also managed to grow her beanstalk, I am always amazes at the speed in which they sprout! We went to bed one night with nothing and the next morning there was a 2 inch plant!!

LOO ROLL PRINTING

I got this idea from Alice over at New Young Mum, you can see her post here and quite honestly she did a much better job than me. It was fun though and the girls enjoyed it.

HANDPRINT FLOWERS

Now this activity is proof that it is the journey, not the destination that matters. I found this activity on the Twinkl website and liked the sound of it. The girls enjoyed hand printing the various bits and bobs but after having to cut out all of the hands and then find they did not quite look the same as the example picture it was a bit of a disaster.

That is it for this week, we were a bit busy so didn’t get as much done as I would have hoped. Need to get on Pinterest and get more ideas! Might have to revisit this theme again later in the year and do it justice.

Have you done any flowery activities?
