The New Year Tag

I know I said I wasn’t going to post any more but I was tagged in the New year tag by the lovely Amy over at Everything Mummy and I just couldn’t resist! The idea is to answer the set questions and then pass the tag on to more bloggers. This seems a nice way to round off the year- especially as my next post will be my new year resolution post on January 1st 2015!

What was your highlight of 2014?

I have had a tough year adjusting to being a mother of 2 but at the same time this has been my highlight. Baby L was born at the very end of 2013 and so 2014 has been all about getting to know her little personality and how she fits into our family. Seeing how much she loves her big sister has been so lovely. Her first smiles, first giggles and first steps were all for her sister. Their bond is just adorable and I cannot wait to see how their relationship will strengthen over time.

What are you excited for in 2015?

  • I am really excited for my best friend’s wedding in October as I am going to be a bridesmaid! I have never been a bridesmaid before and neither have my girls (G and L are her flower girls) so it is going to be a very exciting and emotional day!
  • Britmums!! I went to Blogfest this year and had such a fab time, so now I am really really looking forward to going to another event! Not least for the reason I am sharing a room with Jenna!!

Any new year resolutions?

I have a few and you will have to come back on January 1st to find out! 🙂 I have decided 2015 is going to be my year!

Blogging high?

Honestly I don’t think I can choose just one, I only started in May and I have learned so much in such a short amount of time. I have made new friends and feel like I am myself again. Blogging has brought me to life! I feel like I have been hiding under the ‘mummy’ umbrella for a long time and used it for an excuse for so many things: frumpy clothes, no makeup, not leaving the house.. the list goes on. Being a mum should not mean your life stops and blogging has shown me that I can be my own person AND be a mummy. I love having my own space to write what I want and I am so so excited for what 2015 holds!

Picture of the year?

Fathers' day gift, sisters, daughtersI had this printed as a card for Fathers’ day.

I have so many photos (even more now that I blog!!) and it was difficult to choose just one. This one stands out though as it was a gift for Mr F. He has it as his background on his computer at work and we have the card on display all year round. I was pretty chuffed with myself for being so creative- good old Pinterest!

I love this post. It sounds like you have had an amazingly but challenging year. I think that I sometimes use being a mum and a stay at home mum as an excuse. I plan to stop that this year. I am so glad you started blogging. I love your blog. And you are damn amazing too. I can't wait to see you again soon honey. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
