A new DSLR camera

This year has seen me go from having no hobbies at all to now running my own blog and discovering a love of photography! I did have a pretty nice camera, bought when I was pregnant with Little G and I will probably still use that one at times. Of course I have my camera phone which is pretty good, a Nokia Lumia 925 which has a fab camera with lots of settings.

Blogging has opened my eyes to beautiful photography and if you really want to create fab shots you need to have a DSLR camera. Mr F knew I had wanted one and so for Christmas he got me a Nikon 3200 and I absolutely LOVE IT!!

I took 500 photos on Christmas day alone, trying out different settings and learning what ISO means! I am so excited to take more and always looking for an opportunity to take more photos (which is all the time when you have children!)

Here are 2 photos I took when I finally worked out how to use natural light instead of a flash. I love them because they are of my girls but also because for the first time I feel like I am able to capture moments beautifully.

These are such lovely pics! We've got a big Nikon too — and I often use it for taking pics of work related things — but more-often-than-not I don't have it to hand when there's great light/subject matter etc and I end up using my iPhone!!

I keep promising myself that I'm going to make a concerted effort to make sure the batteries always charged on the Nikon but invariably I forget!! Then something happens, I rush to get the big camera... and the battery is dead. DOH.

Maybe I should add this to my list of resolutions too?! Happy new year lovely!! Here's to 2015! X

I have mine out on the back of our sofa (probably not the best place for it!) so it is close at hand! I am dreadful for using my phone though, just more convenient isn't it? Definitely add it to your resolutions to have it charged and ready! It is lovely seeing the photos they can take! x

Gorgeous pictures. I am very lazy with good photography as hubby is so good. he does wedding photography sometimes. I really think it should be my aim to get better though.

Mr F is taking an interest now that I am, so maybe I can pass the job onto him in the future! Haha! I do love it though! x
