It was my birthday on Tuesday so I thought I would share a photo from my 5th birthday! My mum had the whole class of 30 round to our tiny terraced house for party games and a tea party. Not sure I would be brave enough to do that for my girls! Saying that, in those days kids were left and the parents came to pick them up at the end of the party so not so manic!
I can clearly remember this day, I love that dress so much (my mum probably has it stored in the loft somewhere!). She had made those little trugs out of cardboard, one for each child to have a little picnic basket of food on the carpet and then use it to take their party bag and cake home inside- how creative was she?

Katy, this picture is genius! Your dress is amazing and those little cardboard baskets are the cutest thing ever. I can't believe your mum made 30 of them. She sounds like such a great mum. I would never invite Lili's class over to the house, isn't it funny how times have changed? I had all my birthday parties at our house too.

What a fantastic picture. You had a very brave mum! I have brilliant memories of class parties from when I was little. Not sure I will be brave enough to have that many.

How cute are you?! Now that looks like a proper children's party!! The picnic boxes are genius! I don't think anyone is brave enough to have 30 kids in their house anymore but people used to do it all the time, with jelly and ice cream. Those were the days :) xx
