After reading the amazing post by Caro over at The Twinkle Diaries, showing the absolutely fantastic bedroom makeover she did for her daughter, I was completely inspired! I have spent the last few days trawling through pinterest to find ideas for Little G’s room as it desperately needs a facelift.
Just as we rushed our living room when we moved in, her room was splashed in pink to give it a quick spruce, however none of the furniture matches and it is all just a bit slap dash. I want to create a beautiful space for her, one that she will be proud to keep neat and tidy.
So, here is what I want to do:
The walls
At the moment the walls are bright pink, at first I really liked it but now it is starting to grate on me. I think I am going to paint the walls white and have accents of pink instead. I quite like the idea of having an accent wall so will choose a fairly pale pink for that.
As for the decorations, I will definitely be attempting some sort of wall art. I love Caro’s tree and so hopefully will be able to recreate something along those lines!
I also want to put up some book shelves at the end of the bed. I want her favourite stories to be within easy reach. I love the IKEA spice rack idea and will definitely be making a trip there to gather supplies!
A book corner
She used to have a book corner and we used it all the time. However, the way her furniture is laid out at the moment means there is no room for one. I am going to re-jig the layout so we can have one again! We already have this butterfly bed canopy over her bed but it can be repurposed to go into the corner. I really like the patchwork quilt range from Next, the quilt and cushions would make it cosy and this heart rug would make it a soft area as we have hardwood floors throughout the house.
Furniture
I love her bed, it is a lovely white iron one with brass knobs on each corner, that will definitely be staying as long as possible (until we have to have bunk beds).
I am on the look out for a bookcase, the one she has at the moment is not built for picture books and so they do not fit properly on the shelves. I am keeping a close eye on eBay for a bargain that I can upcycle! I am also on the look out for a little table, they both have the most adorable chairs with their names engraved into the back and at the moment they are tucked under a cheap plastic table, if I could find a lovely wooden table that would be perfect!
Accessories
I bought one of these fairy doors years ago, possibly before I had children! I love the idea that the tooth fairy comes to visit through the door and will be making a real feature out of it in the newly decorated room.
I love this lamp shade, it creates shadows on the walls when you turn it on! It will be completely in keeping with the theme of the the room!
The only thing left to think about is curtains, I am not sure whether to keep the neutral ones we have or splash out on some new ones, what do you think?

I'd keep the neutral so if you decide to upgrade as she gets older they will match. Plus for Some Reason I love neutral curtains!!! We are mid doing the same at the moment! X
