Some days it feels like nothing is going right, you look around you and feel like everything is spiraling out of control. I have days when I despair, wish that I was somewhere else and look at other peoples’ lives and feel as though I am missing out.
What is getting you down today?
Are you tired? Do you feel like everyone else has it easier than you? Are you looking in the mirror and vowing to start a diet tomorrow?
Life is about balance, for every bad thing there is always something good. Wanting what you don’t have doesn’t get you anywhere does it? Of course it can spur you on to work that little bit harder, to aim for the life you want, but on a day to day basis it can just lead to misery. So what can you do?
Learn to change your perspective
You need to look at your situation differently, remind yourself of the positives in your life. You may not be having the best day, you may not have everything you want but you still have plenty to be grateful for. Learn to see the positives and you will be much happier for it.
Your little one is keeping you up at night…
They are waking up every 5 minutes, sleeping in your bed, and you are exhausted. Change your perspective…. Nothing lasts forever, it is a phase that will pass. Next time they wake up, just remember that in a blink of an eye they will be moving out and you will miss these early days. Just look at your little one and be thankful, be thankful that they are healthy.
When the house is a mess…
There is mess everywhere, you don’t even know what a tidy house looks like anymore! Change your perspective… Your children throw toys here there and everywhere, but they are happy. There is plenty of time for a tidy home, relax and join in the fun.
You wish you had a bigger house…
You have outgrown your home, you need more space and look at other people’s dream homes with green eyes. Change your perspective… You have a home though, a roof over your family. Make the best of your situation, de-clutter to make space and spruce up each room to give everything a fresh new look.
You wish you had more money…
You see others going on holiday, their children have all the new toys. Change your perspective… Money cannot buy happiness though, holidays aren’t important and children are happy with quality time with their family, they do not need treats. Yes money can be tight but live within your means and you will reduce the stress related to your finances.
You wish you were thinner…
You see thinner, more beautiful people than you, you wish you could look like them. Change your perspective… I have never known anyone be completely happy with the way they look. Be thankful for your body, it keeps you alive. My body has given me two babies, I must remember that and be thankful every day.
Live your life
Once you learn to see the positives in every situation you will learn to live your life. You will stop wishing days away, you will stop wishing you had more, you will accept what you have and enjoy your every day. That is not to say you cannot dream big but you’ll have heard the phrase ‘good things come to those who wait’, that is a well known phrase for a reason.
Enjoy today and tomorrow will take care of itself.

Fab post Katy, and you're so right. There is little in life so bad that a change in attitude can't have a huge effect over. We always get the choice of being happy or a grump. Sometimes the latter just ends up being a bad habit #sharewithme

These are such useful tips Katy and one to air on various occasions. We all have days when we feel rubbish and negative and this is so worth remembering. x

Great post - I could definitely do with taking some of this and using it wisely. Most days I feel a little bit down about something - mainly having to work as much as I do - but what I really should be thinking is that me working full time means Zach has a roof over his head! Something we weren't sure we'd ever be able to give him. Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday

That is exactly it, i've been down this week about working but I have tried to keep in mind that it is paying for the bits and bobs for G's new room x
