Happy Saturday!
I hope you’ve all had a good week, isn’t it cold? Meant to snow next week so we shall see if the weather man has it right! I am working two days so am secretly hoping I’ll get snowed in! Haha!!
This week has been spent snuggled on the sofa for the most part as I haven’t been very well. The girls have been a little drained too, I think getting back into the swing of school has been hard on us all. I’ve felt a little sorry for Little G having to go off to school, especially as it has been all change in her class with the January intake starting. She has such a close-knit relationship with the 10 children in her class, it will be interesting to see how she copes with the newbies.
LJ and I have had a really lovely week together, not that we have done much besides snuggling on the sofa. She is coming on leaps and bounds with her speech and so we are enjoying playing lots of games that involve having a bit of a conversation. I had been so worried about her speech as up until a month or so ago she hadn’t said a single word. I know you shouldn’t compare but Little G spoke at 8 months and by 2 years old was speaking in full sentences. So to have a child who just grunts can be a worry- especially with her 2 year check just around the corner.
She is now saying quite a few words and always looks really pleased with herself when she says a new one. Just yesterday she surprised me by pointing at a picture of a banana and saying ‘nana’. She took great joy in telling daddy when he got home too and shoved a toy banana in his face shouting ‘nana, nana, nana’! She has also discovered the word ‘me’ and is using it as much as she can.
Being poorly has meant that blogging has taken a real back seat. This mixed with the fact I had planned to take a step back and focus on quality over quantity has meant I haven’t picked up my laptop at all. There have been days when I haven’t even thought about my blog at all and it has been so refreshing. For the first time in 20 months I am living my life without thinking about how it will work as a blog post. Ironically, this month I made it in to the top 100 of the TOTs ranking system. With my new found balance I am thinking it may only be a one-off but I am thrilled to have #92 on my badge!
Keep your fingers crossed for snow!
