Each year we buy a board game to play on Christmas day and most years we end up playing it once and then leaving it to gather dust. We then start play drinking games (minus the drink) as they are always a laugh. They also tend to take a turn for the rude and Mr F and his brothers end up in hysterics trying to describe things without the girls or Grandma overhearing – such children!!
As Hasbro Toy Tribers we were asked to have a play of the new Taboo game – Midnight Taboo. You may have played the original, having to describe the word without using specified ‘taboo’ words on the card. It is always a fun game as people panic and find a whole manner of ways to describe words.
Midnight Taboo is an adult version of the original and includes words and phrases that you would definitely not want your kids or nans overhearing! It is a game you would want to play with good friends, those that you wouldn’t feel prudish around or if you are looking for a gift for a teen at university this would be ideal!
It comes with 100’s of cards and the cards are double-sided so you can play it again and again. You get a score pad, an egg-timer and a buzzer. It is played in teams and each describer must describe as many words as they can in the time allowed. If they use a ‘taboo’ word then they get buzzed and they must choose a new card. The winning team are those that guess the most words – simple!
We played it with his brothers and their partners a couple of weeks ago and it was just hilarious – mainly because in the beginning everyone was a bit embarrassed about some of the words. By the end (and after a couple of drinks) we were laughing so much and had a great evening.
If you are looking for a grown-up game to play, maybe you are having friends over at new years, then this is hilarious!

I have this to review too but haven't had a chance yet. I think I will be saving it until after the grandparents have gone home now!
