Annie: A Dance Workshop

In moments of spontaneity, great things can happen.

A couple of weeks ago Little G and I did something fun and exciting! We heard last minute that Pineapple Dance Studios were wanting some mums and their kids to take part in a dance workshop, so we hopped on the next train to London to go along! We always make plans so it was so nice to do something spur of the moment!

We were welcomed by the lovely Richard Marcel- he is one of the talented choreographers behind Strictly Come Dancing! He, along with his team of dancers were going to spend the day teaching us a routine to the song ‘It’s A Hard Knock Life’, one of the songs from the Annie movie.

Little G was in her element, she loves dancing and seeing her strutting her stuff made me realise I need to get her name down for a dance class as soon as possible! She was one of the youngest children in the workshop but totally held her own, I am one proud mummy!

The mums also took part and even though we were exhausted by the end of it we had the most fantastic time! The opportunities we get through blogging are so amazing and I have to pinch myself sometimes as it doesn’t seem real. This time last year I had a newborn baby, felt completely overwhelmed by life and felt as though I had lost my way. Today I run my own blog, work with some fantastic brands and get to feature in great videos!

Here is the finished video, a behind the scenes style shoot as you would see for rehearsals on Strictly. You can see Little G in her jeans and stripy top – looking a bit hot and sweaty but loving every second!

The film was made to celebrate the release of the Annie movie today, Monday 27th April. Such a great take on the original and a fab updated soundtrack too!
