A Visit To The Poppies

When you are part of the online world, you can’t help but see trends forming at various points throughout the year. Bloggers will flock to bluebell fields, rapeseed fields and the beautiful sunflower fields. You may even have seen the photos from the confetti fields over the last few years – field upon field of beautiful flowers just waiting to be picked to be turned into colourful confetti.

One year, we were lucky enough to find a poppy field – a rare sight it seems. Poppies only bloom for a couple of weeks and farmers may often use them to help balance out the soil before returning to crops the following year.

I had seen these poppies when I’d travelled into London on the train and decided then and there that I would take the girls before they disappeared.

Aren’t they beautiful? The girls ran off through the pathways and were in their element looking for bees and other bugs.

Not entirely sure whether we were allowed in the field so we were as quick as we could be. It was definitely worth the risk though!

Honestly I could have stood for hours taking photos of them both, just something so calming about being surrounded by flowers.

I was pregnant at the time so managed to convince my husband to take a few bump shots for me. I am so glad – this photo is now on the wall.

One last photo before we headed off home. It only took one take too which was a relief to everyone, haha!! I so wish this wasn’t a one off event, that we could go back year on year. Although I guess the field will need a rest in a few years, so baby boy will be able to join in too!
