Inside: Our weekend break at Center Parcs Elveden Forest
I wrote about how important family time was to me a while back and how actually with the busy lives we lead, we don’t always make enough effort to see our loved ones – even when they live just around the corner!
We decided that a trip away to Center Parcs would be the perfect way to reconnect, to make family time a priority even if it was for just a few days.
With a large family (5 being just us!) we needed a bigger lodge and so we went for one of the Executive lodges with a games room. So so glad we did that as with the snow, it was perfect for just hanging out.
Doesn’t it look lovely in the snow? We were lucky to get there before the weather got worse – the snow in the UK is crazy right now!
This was the view from my room – the master double. So picturesque!
I think Gracie has a life goal to have her own pool table – she would have been happy playing it for the whole 4 days!
The weather on Saturday wasn’t as bad and so we were able to get out and about to go bowling. Lils got a strike and well, the less said about my score the better…
Saturday also happened to be my birthday and so we all got dressed up to go to Bella Italia. This is my sister – do you think we look alike?
Mr F and my sister’s boyfriend arranged for the restaurant to make up a balloon display for me – such a lovely idea. Thankfully they did not arrange a massive sing-song of Happy Birthday as I may have turned beetroot red!
The staff were so good, arranging a meal that was dairy and soya free for Wills. He was so happy to be able to join in with everyone else.
Sunday saw the snow start to melt so we went for a little explore around the site. We wanted to go find the treehouses – they are on my wishlist now as they look incredible!
We then went to the lake, which was completely frozen but made for a great location for a mini photoshoot.
Me and my babies.
Sunday was spa day, something I had really been looking forward to. Mr F and I had massages booked and so the girls went into the Activity Den and Wills went to the creche. They all loved it last year and so I was happy to leave them for a couple of hours.
Look at him, pleased with himself making his mama a picture.
The girls put on a show at the end of their session, such a lovely idea and as usual they loved it.
Monday was our last day and it brought the sunshine. We had another swim and then went for a treat in The Pancake House before going home.
We had such an amazing time and although the snow cancelled a couple of plans, we did reconnect as a family and I had a great birthday – couldn’t have asked for more!
I made a little movie of our time away, it gives you a better look at the lodge and everything we got up to over the weekend.
Have you been to Elveden Forest before? Which is your favourite Center Parcs site?
We were invited to stay for the weekend but as always, all thoughts and words are my own.
