This time of year is so exciting I think, with the sunshine beginning to make an appearance and the temperature beginning to be a little kinder. Knowing that the British weather has a tendency to frown upon bank holiday weekends, we decided to have our Easter egg hunt a little earlier. We managed to grab a sunny weekend to visit the girls’ great grandmother and have fun in her garden.

We were very lucky as Next sent us the most gorgeous hamper of goodies, yummy eggs, Easter accessories and some fab spring outfits for the girls. I think that is the best thing about a new season – having new things to wear. Especially with the girls, as they have to have new clothes all the time as they grow out of everything so quickly!
Once I had ‘hidden’ the hamper, the girls set off to follow the signs.
LJ squealed every time she spotted a sign and although the numbers and words meant nothing to her, she was so excited to be following her big sister.

They collected the little chicks as they went along, squirrelling them into their little baskets to play with later.
Little G made me laugh at this sign – “mummy we have to go up!!!” Haha!!
Before long they spotted the basket hiding beneath a tree. We are so lucky that the garden is as big as a football pitch so it meant the hunt lasted just the right amount of time. Not your traditional egg hunt but the hamper at the end was enough to bring huge smiles to their faces!
Aren’t their outfits the cutest? I am a huge fan of dungarees and would wear Little G’s outfit myself!! Both are from the current spring range from Next. So many lovely things for little girls!
I adore their shoes most of all and the first time LJ put them on she refused to take them back off again- I actually thought she would want to wear them in bed!
They grabbed the eggs and made their way to the house to get ready for their Easter egg picnic. They are just the best of friends, always together these days and always wanting to share every experience.
You’ve never seen such cheeky monkeys as these two – you’d think they had never had chocolate before the way they shoved the eggs in!! I took this photo from a little distance away, I wanted to capture how close they are – I think you can see it here. The next few months will push them even closer together and I am so glad they have each other, best friends forever for sure.
Did you have an Easter egg hunt this year? Did you manage to grab the sunshine?

Aww this is gorgeous! Your girls are so lovely together and this looks like the perfect egg hunt. We went to Wellington and got caught outside in a MAJOR hail storm (not quite as idyllic as this!) xx
