Craft Idea: Painting Gnomes For The Garden

I am so looking forward to getting out into the garden. Although I did have a laugh with the midwife recently when she went through all the questions in my notes. She asked me if I was a gardener – due to the fact that pregnant women need to wear gloves when gardening due to toxins in the soil. I explained that she needn’t worry about that as there is more chance of snow in July than me picking up a trowel!

However, I do love being in the garden and I do try my best to make it look nice with various bits and bobs. When Cath Kidston got in touch and asked whether we would like to take part in their #GnorrisTheGnome campaign I knew that the girls would love it and it would prompt me into making an effort in the garden.

Glitter and Porcelain pens

We used porcelain pens and glitter to decorate our two gnomes, I’ve not used pens to paint before but they were great! Usually the girls make such a mess with painting but they were able to use them and have a little more precision – will definitely use them again!

I say they didn’t make mess…. LJ was in charge of the glitter…

Cath Kidston Girls Apron

Little G took great care doing hers, she is so crafty so this was right up her street. Don’t you love her apron? It is part of the garden range and she actually has a few bits already so was so excited to have a matching apron.

Gnorris The Gnome

The paints dried really quickly so we were able to put them in the oven to bake, ready to put in the garden as soon as the warm weather decides to stick around.

We have also been taking part in the #GnorrisTheGnome challenge over on IG – why not take a look and join in yourself. All the details you need are here and you could win a £100 gift voucher and a bundle of Cath Kidston goodies! Good luck!
