Transforming Our Dolls House

I have been so excited about writing this post, it is my entry into the Hillary’s Blinds Competition but it is also something I have been wanting to do for ages! The ideas was to use a 1 metre squared piece of fabric to make something crafty. I considered making something for my home but in the end decided I would use it to make a home for dolls, to spruce up our dolls house.

transforming dolls house We bought the house a while back and as much as it is great in its original state, I wanted to make it feel more homely. I got out my sewing kit and went to buy a few extra bits to be able to complete the job and we were good to go!

DSC_0457 DSC_0464It was so much fun measuring and sewing such tiny little cushions. Little G got involved too and stuffed each cushion carefully.

DSC_0466We laid carpets, we made cushions for the sofas and chairs, we made duvets and pillows and of course, we made blinds for the windows!!

dolls house collageDSC_0511 I made a little video, showing a day in our lives acted out by the dolls in the house. Enjoy!

At some point I would like to paint the outside of the house but for now I am pretty pleased with how it has turned out!

What would you have made for the house?

You did such a beautiful job! My godmother and I refurbished a doll house together when I was little. It was my prized posession. #KidsCorner

Aaah so lovely Kate — what a gorgeous thing to do with your fabric!! :) I so enjoyed this project!! It's lovely to see what can be done with so very little isn't it?! Good luck lovely!! That little video could definitely scoop you the first prize! Well done! :) Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday — hope to see you again next week! x

This looks so good! I love it from the outside too. Amazing what a difference one piece of fabric can make! Such a great thing to have, I bet your little girl will spend hours playing with it...and maybe you too!

How adorable! So many tiny details...fun project. It almost makes me sad my daughter was never into dolls.

I don't know what I would have done if mine didn't like dolls as I always loved them! x
