Do you have days when you just wish you could be someone else? Other people seem to have exactly what you want and it just isn’t fair. Right?
I have written about this before in my ‘Keeping up with the Joneses‘ post. Social media shows us a skewed view of other people’s lives and it can leave us feeling as though our own lives aren’t good enough. It is natural to feel envious when you see people with the latest gadget, going on holidays and wearing the latest trends – especially if you haven’t treated yourself in months!
Blogging is no different to real life actually, bloggers often find themselves wishing their blog is bigger and better. They can turn green with envy when other people announce their latest achievements. This may sound awful but it just means that they want to be the best, they are just a little bit impatient. The saddest thing though, is that after turning green they then start to turn blue. They feel as though they are not good enough and feel like giving up altogether.
Comparing yourself to others is never a good thing, someone somewhere will always be better than you- that is life. That is what makes you strive towards perfection and motivates you to be the best that you can be. Instead of comparing yourself and looking at what everyone else has, you should be looking at what you have and be thankful.
Always be thankful.
It would be wonderful if we could see into the future, to know that everything is going to work out the way we want. But think of it this way, we would love to know that our children are going to grow up being the best and live long and happy lives. But we cannot possibly predict what will happen, so we do our best today and will do our best tomorrow in the hope that we will lay good foundations for their future.
The same can be said about all aspects of life. So, the next time you find yourself feeling as though life isn’t fair, just tell yourself that it isn’t your time. Not yet. So make the best out of each and every day, enjoy what you have and have faith in all that you do. You are amazing.

I really struggle with this. But unfortunately I think it is part of my make-up. I wouldn't call it jealousy. That word feels so negative. It is more that I compare myself to others and feel that I am very lacking. It goes hand in hand with getting self-esteem from others. But I am now trying to live in the moment and to be kinder to myself. This involves doing my own thing and not worrying about anyone else. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

I think you are right, some people are prone to it. I am quite bad sometimes but I am learning to shake it off and stand tall. We are all brilliant in our own way xx

This is such a fab post! I often do exactly what you have written and it's not a healthy way to view life. I should be looking at what I've got right now. A good job, a healthy son and a wonderful partner rather than wanting a job I can do at home or my own business, or be a sahm! I can’t do any of those right now so I may as well enjoy what I have! Thanks for making me think about this! #sharewithme

You are right, sometimes we want those things as they would be best for our family- but the wanting stops us enjoying the now x
