Vlog Diary: A Mothers’ Day Message

A few weeks ago I was contacted by VQ and asked whether I would like to be involved in their mothers’ day campaign with John Lewis. I had seen their gorgeous radios popping up in my IG feed and so jumped at the chance to work with such a great brand.

I was asked to make a vlog, speaking about my mum, what she means to me and what she does for my family. Simple I thought… well, what I did not account for was the fact I am a little hormonal right now and cry at any given opportunity.

Here is my video, please excuse all the sobbing but my mum truly does mean a lot to me and I am not sure what I would do without her. The next year is going to be a tough one as we grow as a family but I know she will be right there at my side whenever I need her.

As I mention in the video, VQ are running a competition over the next 7 days, giving you the opportunity to win a Hepburn Mk II Pink Hearts radio, exclusive to John Lewis. All you need to do is comment below/ on my video/ or tag me on social media using #MyHeroMum telling me why your mum deserves a radio- you could even share a photo of your mum! Those using the hashtag will be entered into a draw and one winner will be picked at random by VQ on Sunday 6th March at 12pm. Good luck!

Update: The winner was Sarah Gibson and was announced here. x

Aww this made me a bit upset, seeing you cry!! Although I think I'd have done exactly the same. Talking about my parents makes me well up too! #MyHeroMum deserves this radio because she's literally the most selfless person I ever met. Constantly doing things for others — not just family but neighbours and friends too. She's amazing. And I think she deserves a treat of her own for once!!

Oh Katy this is just beautiful! I would sob too xx

#MyHeroMum deserves one because I am rubbish at lovey stuff and I'd love her to know how much she means to me, she would be there in a heartbeat if I need her and her grandchildren love her to bits. She's had such a rubbish time health wise and would love this in the garden xx

#myheromum

She always puts others first has had many different children pass through in the years (being a foster carer) and has cared for every single one in a very loving way. She has always allowed special time for my brother and I so we didn't feel pushed out. I love my mum!x

#MyHeroMum my mum deserves it because since we were young she's been a single, independent woman always doing things for others and never expecting or accepting things for herself, so I beleive she is a lady who deserves a bit of a treat!
