Vatika Coconut Hair Oil #review

Since having my girls I have really let myself go! The telling sign is my hair, it is in a terrible state! In the past 3 years I have had it cut 4 times which I know is truly awful, I have so many split ends and it is one mass of tangles. I used to have poker straight hair but pregnancy hormones have caused my hair to curl right up! How weird is that?

I have also lost handfuls of hair in the past 11 months – completely normal for post pregnancy hormone readjustment but still unpleasant!!

I have tried various conditioners in the past and they have made no difference so when I was asked to review Vatika Coconut hair oil I was very interested to see whether it would make any difference to my scraggly mane!

I will admit I had a total mishap the first time I used it. The bottle itself is not totally clear with the instructions for use so I just used it like a conditioner- rubbing it into my hair after washing. I rinsed it out and dried my hair only to find I had the greasiest hair in whole world!! And yes.. I had to go out of the house in a rush.

Anyway, after looking for instructions online I realised I should have put it on BEFORE washing and then shampooed it out afterwards- lesson learned!

The oil itself is solid within the bottle and so you have to run it under hot water for a few minutes to soften it. You can tell once it is ready as the bottle becomes easier to squash! I read about people putting it in the microwave but I wouldn’t recommend that unless you want melted plastic everywhere!!

After using it for the past few weeks I have definitely noticed a difference, my hair feels thicker, softer and easier to brush. I have also noticed that my scalp is not as dry which is great! I really suffer with dryness in this cold weather, the heating messes with my natural oils!

Several people have commented on how healthy my hair is looking which is always lovely! Mr F even commented that I have less fly aways these days – something he always comments on (as if he is some hair pro!!).

If you want to try it for yourself it is available at Superdrug for £3.49-£5.99 depending on bottle size. I can definitely recommend it!

I can definitely recommend it! However, if coconut oil for your hair isn’t your thing, you can always try another oil like Batana Oil instead.

I was sent a bottle of Vatika to try for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and words are my own.

OMG this sounds really good! I usually use the Vatika Egg Protein deep conditioner, but because it is protein based I can't use it very often. This seems like a brilliant product to kind of balance it out. Great post!

Wow, your hair looks luscious, so glossy! Might have to try it, the price is a bargain. I can't stand the smell of coconut though, is the smell strong? xx #AllAboutYou

That's it, being a mum you always choose the easy option. My hair has lived in a ponytail for 3 years and I was shocked to see how long it is when this photo was taken!! x

Gosh you're right; the amount of time and effort you spend on the kids vs yourself is unbelievably unbalanced! Glad you're taking some time out and your hair looks v glossy (although I didn't know it before!) Still, looking good xx Popping over from #AllAboutYou Linky
