Staying Safe with Splash About #review

We love to go swimming and so when Splash About asked us if we would like to review their range we were delighted! They sent us a Baby Snug for L and a Float Jacket for G. I have seen other children wearing the jackets in our local pool but we have always used arm bands. If you have read my Bluestone review you will already know I love these products and am a total convert!

We took everything with us on holiday and couldn’t wait to use them! Unfortunately the rules of the pool did not allow photos – such a shame as there were some great moments that I wished could have been captured! I did manage to take a few sneaky photos in the changing room though!

The Baby Snug

Splash About

I cannot tell you how much I appreciated having this with us! Traditional swimming costumes provide no insulation for baby and often you can see parents having to get out of the pool early with their little ones due to the cold. Babies lose their heat quickly and while we were away we did find the pool to be cold at times. Baby L was perfectly happy for almost 2 hours splashing about in the Baby Snug and with the built in Happy Nappy we didn’t have to worry about any accidents!

The Baby Snug is really easy to put on and take off as it has a fully opening back and the nappy part just pulls down. Easy!

We were also sent some nappy liners- these simply sit inside the Happy Nappy part of the suit and protect the material against any unwanted stains. The liners are fully biodegradable so can be flushed down the toilet which is great!

The Float Jacket

jacket

This is the best thing I have ever used as a parent! The Float Jacket gives you complete peace of mind as a parent, allowing you to enjoy being in the pool. The jacket allows the child’s arms to be free (unlike arm bands) and holds them in the correct swimming position in the water. Little G was so happy in the pool and had the freedom to swim about – even into the deeper waters. Her confidence increased as the holiday went on and by the end she felt brave enough to stay in the water when the wave machines were on!

The best thing about the Float Jacket is that you can remove the floats as your child learns to swim- giving them greater control over their buoyancy.

It is really easy to get on and take off, so much so that G was adamant that she wanted to do it herself!

Splash About

I love the products, the girls love the products and as a family we will be recommending Splash About to everyone we know!

Do you take your little ones swimming?

We were sent the two Splash About items in return for this review. All thoughts and words are my own.

I know, I have always felt wary with arm bands but I was quite happy her swimming off on her own (within reason) with the jacket on. Best thing ever!
