Review: The Britax Römer B-MOTION 4 PLUS

I definitely have a thing for prams and pushchairs.

In fact, it was seeing a new mum pushing her baby into a coffee shop in the most gorgeous pram that got me all broody the last time!

Sadly, they don’t stay little for long, do they? They soon move out of the carrycot, into the seat and then before you know it they are facing forwards!

Now the thing I find with most travel systems is that the seats are never truly big enough for a toddler.

Wills is almost 2 and a half now and is suddenly seeming very tall and grown up indeed. He’d started to grow out of this other pushchair around his second birthday – you know, when their head barely fits under the hood on a rainy day…

So I started looking around for a replacement, one that would be big enough to last him until he is ready to walk full-time but one that would also suit the fact that even at 2 years old he likes to have a nap in the buggy.

The thing I don’t like about most pushchairs is the fact that although they have a lie-back position, their legs still dangle down onto the footrest. I mean surely that isn’t comfortable?

So when I saw the B-MOTION 4 PLUS from BRITAX RÖMER I was thrilled to see an adjustable footrest!

This meant he could nap in a true lie-flat position – much more comfortable and means you can bundle them up in a blanket to keep them warm.

The lie-back mechanism isn’t fancy but it is quick and easy to adjust. Pull the clip towards you to release the straps for naps and then pull the straps sideways to lift the seat back to sitting.

The thing I love about BRITAX is that they have canopy packs for their pushchairs, meaning you can choose the colour you want but quite easily switch to another colour further down the line!

Handy viewing window

I went for Ocean Blue as I wanted a pop of colour but not something that would stand out too much. The canopy packs vary from pushchair to pushchair – this one had the bumper bar and the canopy but other styles come with seat cushions and other bits and bobs.

Something I have always loved about BRITAX pushchairs is their massive baskets. I always have bookbags, water bottles and all sorts to cart around with me so I cannot be doing with a small basket at all!

I have had a lot of mums lusting over this rain cover – not something that many new mums will necessarily consider but I have fiddled with quite a few rain covers over the years and this is by far my favourite! No fitted shape to try and squeeze over the seat, just a nice big cover to throw over when it is pouring down!

I also love the fact that the handle is adjustable. It is suitable for all heights and at 5′ 8″ I love that I can have it right up high so I can hold it at a comfortable height. It is the little touches that make all the difference.

The pushchair can also be transformed into a travel system with CLICK & GO®  adaptors – meaning you can add a carrycot and a car seat to the chassis to adapt to your every need.

All in all, I am really pleased with the B-MOTION 4 PLUS. It is a great size, has great features and is made to the standard I’ve come to love from BRITAX RÖMER. It’s a big thumbs up from me!

What features do you look for in a pushchair?

We were gifted this pushchair in return for this review. All thoughts and words are my own.

Not really sure I follow what you mean. There are metal edges but material on all bits where the child sits and on the bumper to hold x
