You will have probably guessed by now, the girls and I love cooking together! We are always looking for fun things to make and one of our favourite programs on Cbeebies is I Can Cook. Simple, quick and tasty recipes are what we are all about and we have a great one to share with you today!
I thought it would be fun to film them rather than do my normal step by step shots. So, here is the video….
I can tell you now, they were absolutely delicious and we found it difficult to resist eating them all before Mr F got home. We ate ours as a light lunch but you could quite easily scale the recipe up and make one big pie for dinner. Mmmmmm….
Here is the full recipe so you can make them at home:
Makes 12 pies using a deep muffin tin (I used 2 mini six hole muffin tins like these)
– 2 sheets of ready made shortcrust pastry – feel free to make your own though 🙂
– 1 large chicken breast, diced.
– 1/2 a leek, diced.
– 1/2 a pack of ham, diced.
– 1 sachet of Schwartz Chicken and Leek Bake mix.
– 3/4 pint milk
Method
– Cut out 12 large circles from the pastry and place in the muffin tins.
– Add in the chicken, ham and leek – filling them to the top of each hole.
– Mix the sachet mix to the milk and whisk. Pour the mixture into each hole, about 1cm from the top.
– Cut out 12 smaller circles – making them the size of the hole so they sit nicely as lids.
– Bake in the oven at 200ºC for 15 minutes or until golden.
We served ours with homemade potato wedges – so so easy to make. Simply cut the potatoes into wedge shapes, place into a mixing bowl and spritz with some oil spray. I then added paprika and oregano and gave them a good shake. Bake them for 45 minutes on 200ºC and enjoy!!
Let me know if you give them a whirl!

I love this video - you girls just get cuter by the minute! I think that my girls might actually eat these, and I am very tempted to try and make a veggie version as this looks so easy!
