If you have seen our gender reveal, you will know that we are expecting a little baby boy this summer. You will also know that I immediately started preparing for his arrival. We got him some gorgeous little sleepsuits (hopefully in the right size) and they are ready and waiting for him. However, the main thing that needs sorting is his room – it is currently pink!
Aldi have a baby event starting today (21/04 until stocks last) and they have some amazing bargains as always. They sent us a few bits and bobs to help us get started in baby’s room and I am going to head down there this afternoon as there are a few more things I have my eye on!!
So much of what we had for the girls was pink. I know it isn’t for everyone but I love it and so most of our baby things were pink. Now, I wouldn’t be too bothered if our new little bundle slept on a pink sheet but after 2 babies using the various bits and bobs it was time to start over – plus we sold lots of stuff when we thought we were done with baby things!
I think we are going to go with grey, white and blue as a theme for his room and so I have a shopping list as long as my arm now! To be honest I can’t even remember what babies need so if you can think of any essentials then please let me know!!
So what have we got so far?
A changing mat. We have a cot-top changer and threw out the old mat years ago. This one is lovely with the bright balloons floating through clouds.
Sleep suits. I was all too keen to start dressing the girls in ‘proper’ clothes but I want to savour every moment of this little one being a baby. I don’t intend on him being in much else besides sleep suits for a good few months.
Body suits. Or vests really aren’t they? I have no idea what the weather is going to be like when he arrives, he may well be wearing just a vest if we have a hot summer. He is due in August so hopefully it is still hot then! If not he can wear them under his sleep suits.
Blankets. You can see the lovely blue blanket at the top of the post. Mr F has always wanted our girls to have silky edged blankets as that is what he had as a child. Not many places sell them these days so if you want some then head on down and grab them before they sell out!
Muslins. They are just essential aren’t they? We still use them now as a massive bib for when LJ is having spag bol!! I’ll be packing these in my maternity bag for sure!
Like I said, there are few bits I have my eye on so am off there later. I like the look of the sling bookcase – children can never have too many books can they? They also have a bouncer so am going to go look at that as ours was essential when LJ was a baby – I am gutted we sold it!!
Let me know what bargains you manage to find!! For more info head over to the Aldi website. 🙂

Thanks for the heads up, LOVE the Aldi baby event! We've had their vests and blankets before and they're great, really good quality. We also like their long sleeved bibs for weaning and the bargains they have on the cloth nappies :)
