Photo Diary: Just Spending A Little Time

There is just over 20 weeks until we become a family of 5 and I know those weeks are going to fly by. I am already half way through and I am suddenly realising that I do not have very long at all with my family the way it is right now. That probably sounds like I will mourn the way we are now once the baby is here but that isn’t the case at all. I just know that life is going to be turned upside down for at least 6 months and so I want to make sure we make the most of these last few months before mayhem descends.

With summer coming, there is even more reason to get out of the house and do fun things. We always seem to hibernate during the winter and so at the first sign of spring we are out the house like a shot! This weekend the weather in the UK was supposed to be warmer than Spain, so we decided to make the most of it and go for a couple of walks.

Our next door neighbour told us about a lovely nature reserve near us, one that Mr F had never heard of despite growing up around here (too busy playing football with his brothers!!). We planned on taking a picnic but in the end time ran away with us, so we just went for post-lunch stroll instead.

At the moment the girls are alllll about nature and going on nature hunts. Whenever we go out they want to find as many animals as possible. They love all animals, from teeny tiny bugs to huge feathered friends!

Our walks are never too long as LJ’s little legs can’t cope and to be honest nor can mine! We went on a bit of a trek last weekend by mistake and I felt it for about 4 days afterwards!!

The girls had a little race down this daffodil lined driveway and poor LJ soon realised she couldn’t keep up. Poor little lamb. Love this photo though, she is such a cutie. I adore her top too – why do companies never make things in adult sizes? It is from the Mamas & Papas – their Disney collection sums LJ up perfectly, she is definitely mad as a hatter most of the time.

By the end of the walk she was trailing behind, she refused to be carried though which is unlike her. I think as she is getting older she is seeing that her sister doesn’t get carried or sit in the buggy and so wants to be just like her.

We made sure we walked nice and slow though and it gave Little G a chance to find lots of little creatures. She refused to move until this ladybird flew off of its own accord – then she made a wish.

Before we went back home we had one more look at the ducks and swans. Little G pointed out that all of the daddy ducks were chasing the mummy ducks- indeed they were and I am sure if we go back in a month or so there will be some ducklings to see!
