I am a mother!!

We have been away this week and it has been really lovely. No washing, no dishes or any housework at all! It has given me time to relax and take a look at my life.

We went to the park the other day and I took this photo of my girls. As I sat and watched them swinging and laughing it suddenly struck me- I am a mother.

I know that sounds ridiculous with Little G being almost 3 and Baby L being 8 months now but still, it hit me all the same. I am a mother of 2, married, a wife. How weird is that? Not that long ago (well, quite a while ago) I was a child myself. Now I am all grown up!

Time flies so quickly and what with the busy lives we all lead these days it is far to easy to miss moments. Before you can blink your children are all grown up and you have been too busy with nothing in particular to notice.

I am returning to work (after 3 years off) soon and I am dreading it. It is going to make time fly by even quicker meaning more moments whizzing past before I have a moment to take them in. People say you make more of the moments when they are limited, I really hope so.

I know exactly what you mean! I look at my eldest and can't believe he's 15 and we have so many moments to remember ☺️

I cannot imagine mine being 15!! You must just look back and wonder where the years went!! I swear each year goes quicker than the last- how is it nearly Christmas again?!!

I know exactly what you mean. I check on my girls every night before going to bed and every night I look at them (asleep) and think 'I can't believe they're ours'. I recently gave up work to become a SAHM because I wanted to enjoy every day with my girls, while they're still little. Love this post xx

Ah thanks Heledd. That is great that you are now a SAHM. I love it! I am gutted that I am not going to be doing it full time anymore but it is only supply work and I am going to do it 1 or 2 days a week so that isn't too bad I suppose. x

I totally relate to this. My eldest is ten and my youngest is 4 months old, and I am regularly struck by the fact that I have three little people that call me mum. The enormity and brilliance of it never ever fades. x

That is amazing that you still feel that way after 10 years. It makes me wonder how my mum feels about it 30 years later and now being a grandmother too!

Awww good luck with the work. I was in hiatus too for the longest time and I dont know how to handle first day of work now.

I have those moments too. Just standing in front of my son in the store or us walking it would struck me, oh my god I am a mom!

And here is the boy who calls me Mom or Merlinda.

Amazing feeling to be one.

I get that a lot too, sometimes I just stand back and think oh my god I am a Mum. I know that feeling, such a strange one as you are with them day in and day out, but if you stop and think about it it is really amazing. I hope that returning to work goes ok for you. x

Thank you, I am really nervous. I told G today and she cried and cried. I will be crying all the way to work I think.
