If you have read my finding a balance post you will know that I am going to be trying to cut down on a few blog related things and make time for myself and my family more. I have been so tired lately, as a result haven’t been the best person to be around and this has had a knock on effect on the whole family. I don’t want to be that person and so want to spend the summer holidays finding my inner calm once again.
For me to be my normal calm self there are a few things that need to happen. Therefore I have made a mental plan of what needs to be done over the summer to get me back to my happy place. I need to focus on my home and my family as they are what matters to me most.
My Summer Plans
DECLUTTER There is nothing that stresses me out more than a messy house. This is a problem seeing as I have two messy kids and Mr F and I aren’t always any better. The root of the problem is the fact we have too much stuff for the size of the house we own. So, I want to do some serious decluttering and that means being totally ruthless!! Once the house is tidy I will begin to feel calm.
PLAY I have become so serious lately and I don’t like it. Being away on holiday recently reminded me how much fun it is to let my hair down and join in with the kids. I want to bounce on the trampoline and run around the park with the girls instead of being the boring one (Mr F is the fun one).
RECONNECT This is mainly about my marriage but also about friends. I want to make sure that I make the time to text friends and have more than one night off a week to sit and watch a movie or go for dinner with my best friend in the world, my husband. This isn’t just for summer but the time to start is now.
EXPLORE We live in such a beautiful county and I haven’t explored any of it! Spending time out of the house, having picnics in beautiful places while my girls run around in the sunshine makes me happy. We have all winter to stay indoors, I don’t want to waste the summer! One of my wishes is to go to our local lavender fields!
RELAX The main reason for my tiredness is due to the fact I never switch off. In the day I am running around after my girls and once they go to sleep I open my laptop to work. I am hoping that by taking the time to reconnect and to explore that will help massively but I also need to do some proper relaxing- bubble baths and early nights! I may even read a book!
So there we have it, a few things I plan on implementing this summer. Just writing it down makes me feel calmer as I know there is a plan in place. I want to enjoy the next few weeks and come out the other side feeling rejuvenated and balanced- ready for work and ready for Little G starting school, I want her to have happy memories of her time at home.
How do you find your inner calm?

Good luck they sound like wonderful plans and I hope it works out for you. I plan to de-clutter too it's driving me insane. I have even put a weekend in the diary with my husband to tackle a load of his things. I am also trying to take a step back and enjoy real life. I think I may do a few less posts a week over the summer but I will see how it goes :) xx
