We are racing along to the finish line it seems, June will be here tomorrow and we are another month closer to meeting our newest member of the family. He is making himself known more and more by the sheer size of my tummy and the huge array of acrobatics he likes to partake in. The girls are already including him in things which makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside, especially LJ who loves to draw a picture and say it is for baby.
There is a flip side to this though, I sometimes catch myself worrying about what would happen should anything happen. I don’t know how I would ever explain that to them and so I am trying my best not to count my chickens just yet. Every day I feel those little kicks is a blessing and they take me closer to the day I will get to hold him in my arms.
For now, it is just the 4 of us and we are certainly making the most of it. As much as I don’t feel like doing much at all most days, I make a concerted effort to be completely present for the girls. Even if that does mean I play Jenga while lying on my side on the sofa or have to read them their bedtime story downstairs before daddy takes them up to bed. This weekend has seen us spend a huge amount of time together, from 5am starts to 10pm bedtimes. It makes a change as we normally end up going to visit family or Mr F will go to a friend’s house to watch football. But this weekend was just the 4 of us, with Sunday being a day of complete isolation from technology with no signal at all. It was great! I have vlogged it all so do keep an eye out on my channel if you fancy a nosey.
The weather has played a huge part in helping us create these memories. We have been outdoors most days and have been able to go on spur of the moment trips to here, there and everywhere. We went to a great little festival near us (you may have seen my last vlog) and I actually wanted to try and get a photo of the four of us there. Me being a total whale right now meant that it wasn’t possible and so these photos are just of us in our garden later that afternoon – our favourite place to be right now.
They are certainly not the best photos ever but they make me smile. They will always remind me of that day – the day that mummy was just a little bit too heavy for the trampoline and was causing everyone else to slide towards her. The day that we were all in fits of laughter trying to get our heads together and LJ head-butted us all. The day that none of of the photos taken using the selfie stick were any good as the sun was far too bright! Photos capture a moment, one that you want to remember – that day is one I want to remember as it is just us, our little family as it is right now.
