Inside: Tips for maintaining your kitchen. Collaborative post.
Trying to clean up the kitchen with kids under your feet isn’t the easiest thing to do, is it? Most mum’s who are working full time and raising children have to also deal with the lion’s share of the housework, and finding the time to get into the nitty gritty of cleaning in the home is hard. The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house, but if your cabinets are full of old food and crumbs, and your tiles are full of grout, you will find they’re more of an annoyance than anything else.
Maintaining your kitchen is much easier when you have the time for it and while you can call a cleaner and have them come in and do the kitchen for you, it’s always a good idea to keep up with kitchen tile & grout trends yourself, too. You don’t need to pressure yourself with expensive organisation systems in the kitchen to be efficient, especially when there are plenty of affordable ways to implement a cleaner kitchen without it needing to be Pinterest worthy. So, what tips do you need to maintain your kitchen
- Remove the clutter. Open every single cabinet and drawer in your kitchen and start removing anything overflowing that could be considered clutter. If you haven’t used it for six months or more, get rid of it. Your kitchen cleanliness is so much easier to maintain when you don’t have clutter flowing out of everything.
- Everything has a place – you just have to put it there. If you cannot identify everywhere for your belongings to be, it’s time to find a place for it all. Does everything have a designated drawer or not? Organisation is key to maintenance.
- Make maintenance simple, and you can do that with categories for your organisational systems. You may not want to put a whole system into your cabinetry, but you can still designate drawers into cutlery and baking, crockery and more.
- Clean everything. When it comes to organising everything in your kitchen, clean everything as you go! Before you put everything into each space of your kitchen, it should all be cleared so that you can just stay on top of it as time goes on. It’s much easier to keep the kitchen deep clean if you clean as you go! Run any dishes through to the dishwasher and organise your pantry cupboards with a clean cloth!
- Create a schedule. On a Monday, mop the skirting boards, and on Tuesday, wipe out the cabinets and windows. This is just an example of what you can do, but by designating one job per day on top of your usual kitchen chores, you will stay on top of any of the other kitchen chores. This will help you to make it a beautiful space without much effort.
A clean kitchen is such a simple thing to have, but it’s a busy life! Make your life easy and use these tips first and see how it all goes.
