If you have been following my decluttering journey, you’ll know that I am trying to make my house a home. As part of that, I am trying to replace old tattered things with quality items that will last us for a long time. One of the latest areas to be done was the hall, stairs and landing and a part of that was the airing cupboard. We had so many mismatched towels that quite frankly resembled cardboard after 12 years of use. Time for an upgrade!
The lovely people at The Towel Shop thought I could do with some new towels and sent us over a bamboo bale to suit our family. We have bath sheets, bath towels and a couple of hand towels – plenty to keep a family of 5 snuggly and dry!
Until a few years ago I would have wondered what on earth bamboo towels would be like. But having used cloth nappies for the past 4 years I am well aware of the amazing qualities of bamboo.
Bamboo is 3 x more absorbent than cotton, wicking away moisture quickly with their dense fibres. Bamboo is also anti-fungal with quick drying properties – this means they can be used several times without risk of smelling or becoming unhygienic. For a family of 5, with washing piles up to the ceiling, this make such a difference.
For anyone wanting to be eco-friendly, bamboo is a sustainable source and takes up less space due to its higher yield per plant. So not only are they soft, absorbent and great for your washing pile, they also do good for the planet too!
If you are looking to upgrade your towels, then definitely consider bamboo towels as an option. The Towel Shop have several bales to choose from, depending on your needs, and they are all very reasonably priced too! Perfect!
