I am always trying to think of fun and exciting activities for Little G and I to do together. We always use our one to one time crafting as it is her favourite thing to do above anything else. We will colour, collage, paint and junk model- all fun activities!
Something we have never tried is sewing, I wouldn’t even have thought to do it to be honest but it is an important life skill and my mum taught me so I should do the same for both of my girls. There are many places you can find free embroidery designs with loads of different things to make. We chose a kit to get started with her project and it had everything she needed.
I was so proud of her, it took well over an hour of quietly working away but she managed it with very little guidance from me. I did the stitching around the edge of the pencil case but she did the elephant and attached him to the case.
I am really impressed with the kits although I wish there had been a little more thread as we were running really low at the end and if there had been any mistakes we would not have had enough. We still have another project to finish off but will show you as soon as it is complete, it is fab!
Have you tried sewing with your little one?

These look perfect for beginners and I totally agree that all children should be taught how to sew, it's such an essential skill! x
