We have always been behind the times when it comes to tv, being way behind the times on most shows that people rave about. We have just finished watching Prison Break (only 7 years late) and still haven’t got into Downton Abbey. Part of the problem is the fact we haven’t had the best medium to view these shows – one that allows us to watch things as and when we are ready. Does anyone even watch tv live anymore?
We were recently invited to join the Netflix Stream team and I cannot tell you how excited I am about it! It means that we will be able to have access to all those shows that we have been wanting to watch over the years and also any new shows that come along. It also means we can watch them anywhere – including on our iPads. This will be absolutely perfect for those late night feeds – it will make that phase just that bit easier for me.
We have had our account for just over a week now and I already love it!! We have started watching Orange Is The New Black and we are already addicted – so that is our evenings sorted for the next month or so. If you have any other suggestions for another series to get into then do pop them in the comments. 🙂
Netflix challenged us to play a little game, to help us get used to our new account. We decided to get the girls involved and use the little fortune teller they sent to help us choose a family movie. I thought I had shown her how to use a fortune teller before, but it seems I haven’t and she LOVED it! I think we may have a new craze in the house!
Each of us have our own account, tailored to our own tastes. The girls have a kids account and it brings up suggestions based on what they have watched before. We logged into G’s account for the challenge and wrote down the different categories, she then chose a movie per category and we wrote them under each flap. She was so excited to play the game and seeing as she is a little obsessed with phonics right now, she enjoyed sounding out the colour names.
In the end we watched Reef 2, the sequel to one of her favourite movies. She is loves anything to do with animals, specifically sea creatures – definitely her daddy’s daughter there (we both studied Marine Zoology at uni, although I didn’t actually enjoy it haha!). It was so nice to be able to sit down and watch a new movie together, snuggled on the sofa. We have well and truly exhausted all of our DVDs and so having a huge selection to choose from was amazing!
Over the next year, as part of my work on the Stream Team, I will be bringing you updates and news hot from the press. Similarly, if there is anything you want to know then feel free to ask me – I will be sharing our experience as the months go by and if this last week is anything to go by I think it is going to be great!

I really feel like we're missing out by not having Netflix! I know the girls would love it and I would get very distracted and be even less productive than I am at the moment! Xx
