I love my ecoegg!

I first heard of the ecoegg once I had started using cloth nappies. I had really struggled with getting the amount of detergent right for washing the nappies. This meant that I had dirty nappies or nappies with a build up of detergent. Either way they stank!!

A friend recommended the Ecoegg and so I thought I’d give it a whirl.

In the box you get:

Detailed instructions
An empty egg
1x packet of black tourmaline ceramic pellets which you never have to replace
12x packets of cream coloured mineral pellets.

You then just have to keep an eye on the cream pellets and top them up when necessary.

Before you start using the egg they recommend you detox your washing machine. I ran the machine on 90 degrees. Wow what a smell!! It made me feel a bit queasy to think that my clothes had been washed in such filth!!
Once the cycle was finished I popped a load of washing in and added the egg to the load. I was really excited for the cycle to finish and I was not disappointed! The clothes were clean!
I really like the smell of fabric softener so I add that to the wash too which is perfectly fine but they say there is no need as the egg beats the clothes soft as it washes.

So how about the nappies?
They come out clean every time which is great! I was on the verge of giving up on cloth nappies but with the ecoegg I nolonger have problems with build up of detergent.

Even if you don’t use cloth nappies I would still recommend it for general use. I do add fabric conditioner for normal clothes washes as I love the smell.
