I Always Wanted A Rocking Horse

As a parent you always want to give your children the best, everything you didn’t have as a child and more. We are providing a future for our girls so they will have the same opportunities as our parents provided for us. We both work hard so they are able to have things that maybe we weren’t able to have as children. Something I always wanted as a child was a rocking horse. I am not sure why but it is something that sticks out in my mind as being something I was never allowed.

Being older I now know that my parents were not able to afford luxuries when I was younger and so a rocking horse was not a priority to them. Still, the 5 year old Katy wanted one and so as a parent, being able to get one for LJ made me very happy indeed.

When I unboxed it all, LJ was home with me and could barely contain herself as I put it together. She is so funny, she always knows if something is meant for her and will let Little G know about it! She has spent most days rocking back and forth, shrieking if her sister so much as looks at it! I may end up buying one for Little G just to stop the fuss!

This rocking horse is one of a few old style toys I have slowly been adding to the toy room. Those wooden, high quality pieces will outlive us all and be something to hand down to future generations. Having him sitting there adds a touch of magic to the room too, there is something just so special about them don’t you think?
