Inside: How to Get More Space at Home. Collaborative post.
Do you always worry that you don’t have enough room? Maybe you feel like no matter what you do, clutter piles up and you just don’t have the space that you need at home. When that’s the case, don’t worry you’re not alone. So many of us struggle to find storage solutions and make extra space.
But there are always options that you can rely on. In this blog post, we’re going to take a look at some of the things you can do to gain more space and how to stay sane in the process.
Start With a Huge Clear Out
To begin with, you’re always going to want to start with this. And it really can feel a little repetitive and basic, but it always works. And unless you’re clearing and organizing on a regular basis, this can be the culprit for why things are building up and adding up.
But try not to overwhelm yourself at once. Think about taking it room by room and clearing things you no longer need as well as trying to get some organization in place.
Reorganize Rooms
Another thing that you can do is think about reorganizing your rooms a little bit. Can you think of better uses of space? Maybe the dining space you never use can be converted into a playroom? Or that spare room can become a closet or storage space?
Sometimes, moving things around can really help to free up space and allow you to make better use of it.
Add More Space
From here, you may find that you really want to be able to add in more space to your home. Sometimes, the only answer is to gain extra rooms! But this doesn’t always mean that you have to go for a full extension.
You can think about converting your garage or attic or look into conservatories too. Sometimes, additions like this can give you the extra space you need without having to move or fully extend.
Consider Storage Solutions
Then you’re going to want to consider the storage solutions that could make all the difference for you. Think about how you can use your wall spaces with shelving and built-in storage solutions that can help you.
Also, consider furniture with storage built in too. Plus, there are always bins and baskets that you can use to help you stay organized within different rooms in the house too. It’s all about being creative with how you approach it.
Have a Stringent Organizational System
Finally, you’re going to want to make sure that you absolutely have a very stringent organizational system in place. When you’re struggling for room, being smart with where you store things (and how) matters.
Knowing where everything is, packing things in tightly, and being smart with adding in more organizational systems can really help to keep you sane. You’ll always be surprised by what you can do with small spaces when you really put your mind to it.
