Welcome to HappyDays! I co-host this linky with Jenna (Tiny Footsteps) so please do remember to go over to her post and say hi! We want to inspire you to make the best out of every day, appreciating the little things in life and having happy days.
Thank you so much to everyone who joined in last week, it was so nice to see familiar faces returning for the new year and great to see some new faces joining in for the first time!
I really enjoyed reading Jess’ post- not only does she have a shiny new blog name ‘Picnics in the Rain’ which I LOVE but her little girl is at the same stage as Baby L- mimicking everything including clinking glasses which is so cute!
Over to my week…
Out & About
You may have seen our post about our trip to the cinema at the weekend. Little G and I saw Paddington and it was lovely to have mummy daughter time. I haven’t been to the cinema in the longest time so it was nice to get out of the house and do something a bit different!
On Sunday afternoon we went to a birthday party for a little boy we know. I didn’t take L as I thought she might be overwhelmed by all the 4 year olds, so it was nice to spend some more time with G again. I wasn’t quite myself though and Mr F came to get us after an hour or so.
Mr F had Tuesday afternoon off to go to the doctors so we were able to spend the afternoon together as a family. We went to the park and had fun on the swings but had to leave after a while as both girls were absolutely freezing! The park is going to have to wait until the warm weather appears as their hands were red raw by the time we got home!
Wednesday saw the start of pre-school for Little G. I was apprehensive about it all as besides leaving her with my mum, when I go to work, I have never left her anywhere before. I needn’t have worried though as she happily skipped in, hung her coat up and went to play with the playdough. I asked her if it was ok to leave and she gave me a kiss. That was that- all grown up.
Fun at Home
We have had fun building tents, crafting and generally just messing about really. I wanted to enjoy every last second of being the 3 of us at home everyday.
G was given some really lovely crafty bits from her Grandad for Christmas. Tesco sell some great kits and we have had fun putting them all together. They are really sturdy, I would recommend them for anyone who loves to build! She got a pirate ship, a horse and carriage and the castle. I helped paint the castle, I found it very therapeutic!
Time for Me
I have not been very well for the past month, I have been suffering with vertigo, headaches and nausea. Before you all get excited I am 100% not pregnant- can’t be going through that again! I went to the doctors last Friday and was told it is Viral Labyrinthitis- an inner ear infection. I have been given some sort of drug that tells the brain to ignore the unbalanced signals. It seems to be working- as long as I remember to take the tablets!!! The only thing that seems to be happening is that I feel a bit like I have a shadow hanging over me, not depressed as such but just not able to feel happy. Very weird. Anyway, so my time for me this week has been trying to take better care of myself while I feel so rubbish!
My Happiest Moment
While we were at the park Mr F was messing about with G on the swings. He was grabbing her by the wellies, pulling her right up high and then letting go. She was laughing so hysterically it was so lovely to watch. He is so good with them both, I am very lucky.
Next week I would like to…
Once I have settled into this new routine of having Baby L all to myself 3 days a week I would really like to try and do some activities with her. It is a bit tricky as she naps pretty much all of the time G is at nursery, but I may try and re-jig that sleep so we can spend some time together as she has always had to share me.

January 11, 2015 at 11:38 pmJust linked up with a post on our family day out today! Literally hot off the press… tee hee.
Gorgeous pictures of your babies here, I especially love that last one of your daughter with a massive smile on her face on the swing.
I know what you mean about the cinema, as soon as Poppy’s old enough (or should I say has the concentration to watch a full film), we’ll be going at least once a month – I can’t wait.
Feel better soon x
Thanks for hosting #HappyDays

January 11, 2015 at 11:48 pmSorry to hear you’ve been poorly with Labyrinthitis, my mum has had it before and she really struggled with it. I do remember that the pills made her feel very foggy too, so perhaps that is a normal (but horrible) side effect of them? I really do hope you feel better very soon and get your happy back asap!
I love your photos of the girls this week, their hats are amazing =)
I hope you have a better week. thanks as always for hosting xxx

January 12, 2015 at 5:24 pmYeh I do feel foggy, not at all pleasant! Just hoping it clears asap!
