Thank you so much for everyone’s kind words last week. I was feeling so down and your comments really lifted my spirits! I appreciate every single comment so a big hug to you lovely lot! I was so rubbish at keeping on top of commenting on last week’s HappyDays! I think it took me until Wednesday of this week to go around everyone to say hi! A lovely collection of posts and as always, inspiring and motivating! I was very jealous of the amazing car that Cocopops made this week! I have seen others make similar vehicles and I have told Mr F to keep an eye out for a big box so we can make one!! x I was so pleased to see that Louise finally got around to making her cushions over at Little Hearts, Big Love. She finally took time for herself to get them done and they are fab! x Ok over to me now and I have had a much better week! I have given myself a kick up the bum and organised my life! I sat down on Sunday and mapped out what I would like to do each day. That included meals to make, activities to do at home and places to go/ people to see. This might seem a bit rigid for some but without that plan I would have done nothing!
Out & About
This was a big improvement for me! For the past few weeks I have hibernated like a bear in winter and barely left the house. I wanted to make sure I was prepared for any weather and so I spent Sunday sorting through winter coats, rain coats, gloves, mittens, scarves and hats! No excuses!! On Sunday Mr f was off paintballing for the day with his brothers so the girls and I went to pick up Aunty K and drove to a local farm to see Father Christmas! It is called The Magic of Christmas and the grotto was certainly magical. Father Christmas himself wasn’t especially cheery or chatty so I was glad I only paid the £6 for Little G to see him! She liked the little puppy he gave her though so that is the main thing. We had a look around their Christmas shop afterwards and I bought a Christmas decoration for a friend. Of course we had to have a cake afterwards in their cafe… mmmmm.
Afterwards we went to the park which was really nice. We don’t spend enough time with Aunty K so it was lovely to spend a whole day together. She went off with Little G while I stood for about half an hour pushing L on the swing. She absolutely loves it and would quite happily sit and swing all day if I let her! I did try her on the slide but she wasn’t overly sure of what was happening to her haha!
I am dragging my mum into my new way of thinking as she too likes to batten down the hatches during the winter. She is currently going though a divorce from my dad so the last thing she needs is to be stuck at home! We went to our local soft play on Tuesday and I am so glad we did! I know soft play areas have a bad reputation but having only a toddler and a baby we get to go during school hours so it isn’t too bad. I accidentally went during half term once…. wow… won’t repeat that mistake!!
Anyway, mum had Baby L and I kept an eye on Little G, although to be fair she is able to go on most things herself these days. At one point she was about 30 metres above me and I almost had a heart attack but she was fine of course and came whizzing down the swirly slide. Thursday wasn’t an overly exciting day out but we went to the Sainsbury’s in Stevenage. It is bigger than the Hitchin one and sells clothes. Mum (dragged her out again) wanted to take some t-shirts back and I wanted to browse their gift section. I found an Elsa dress- last one- in G’s size! I took that as a sign and bought it sneakily while she went around the shop with my mum. She is going to flip when she opens that on Christmas day!!! I cannot wait!!
Friday was ballet and I left Baby L at home with mum (keeping her busy haha) as it was pouring with rain. So off we went in our raincoats to splash in puddles along the way. I am so glad I carried on for one last term as she really does enjoy it and if I do say so myself is actually pretty good for a 3 year old. Her teacher is very good with the class and considering most of the mums chat LOUDLY at the side of the hall she manages to keep the children calm and under control. I would chuck them out personally, so rude!
Fun at Home
The best fun at home we have had this week is making our own bread! I am not sure what prompted me to start but it is so so easy and means I don’t have to buy a separate dairy/ soya free loaf for Baby L. I was pretty nervous putting the first loaf in but it rose really well and I am now an expert haha!
Most of the activities we have done this week have revolved around cooking actually. We made trifles and smoothies inspired by a series of books we have been reading. Keep an eye out for the review of The Cuddle Pirate coming soon! We also made some delicious cookies using the chocolate buttons I was given in my MAD‘s goodie bag. Not normally a fan of dark chocolate but these ones by Hadleigh Maid were really scrummy! I finally got around to making some sensory bottles too! I have been meaning to do it for ages but finally remembered to buy some bottled water and get going. We are still drinking our way through the bottles so I will do a full post on it soon but here is Baby L with the two I made this week. She loves them so I recommend it as an activity!
Time for me
I cannot write a blog post and not mention my time at Blogfest! I was lucky enough to meet some of you lovely ladies as well as my gorgeous co-host Jenna! So many people thought we had known each other for years which was actually lovely but no, first time last week actually meeting in person!
I have written all about my day so I won’t repeat myself but it definitely was the best day and I was able to be Katy rather than mummy which was a refreshing change to a Saturday!
My Happiest Moment
I am not sure I can pinpoint one thing this week. I had such a wonderful time at Blogfest and this has given me confidence and the momentum to carry on with my blog. I have also got myself organised and generally feel more positive about how I want to move forward in general. Here’s to more happy moments and #HappyDays!!
Next week I would like to….
I have been in overdrive with my blog since Blogfest and have spent about 5 hours every night working on various blog related projects. This is a crazy amount! I know that I could quite easily work 9-5 on it but seeings as I earn zilcho from it I cannot justify spending so much of my life staring at my laptop! So next week I want to go back to my 2 hours a night routine and try and spend a bit more time with Mr F as I have totally neglected him recently.

Yay, I'm so glad to hear you've had a much better week, it sounds like it's been jam packed!
We're huge fans of soft play but never in the school holidays or a Friday afternoon, then it's torture, haha! Your bread looks amazing, I haven't made a loaf since I was at school and that one came out like flatbread! I may need to have another try with your instructions though as your loaf pic looks yummy.
I'm glad you finally got to meet Jenna and other blogging friends at Blogfest, it sounds like it was a brilliant experience.
Hope you have another great week xxx

It's so nice reading your posts - especially your #HappyDays ones now I have met you. I am looking forward to hearing about the reaction to the Elsa dress at Christmas! Hope we get to see a photo. Love the breadmaking too - your loaf looked delicious and I bet your whole house smells so scrummy with all that baking going on!

Yay - looks like you've had a great week. Now I just need to get my arse in gear and get as organised as you. :)
Your soft play looks great - and yes, I do want to go on that slide.
It was funny that so many people thought we had known each other ages - lovely though. :)
I bet your mum enjoyed being out with you - must be lovely for her to spend time with you and the girls.
Can't wait to see what you get up to next week. :) xxx

Yeah, the girls manage to keep her mind off it but it has been the worst 6 months of my life! This blog has been the only thing to keep me sane!! I hope you have a good week, not sure what the weather is meant to be like this week. Rain seems to scupper so many plans when you manage to make them!! Rubbish not having a car! x
