Happy Days: Quality Time, Lovely Readers and A Tidy House

Welcome to HappyDays! The idea of this linky is to inspire others to make the best out of every day, to see the happy in the little things. As no matter what, there is always something good in every single day- we just need to take the time to see it. Share your happy posts, Sian and I love to read them!

Phew! Thank goodness it is the weekend! The week has flown by but it has also been one of those weeks – one where I have forgotten to brush Gracie’s hair, forgotten her cardigan and generally been a bit forgetful all over the gaff! Not that any of that truly matters in the scheme of things but blimey, need to get my head straight for next week!

Wills is a month old, can you believe it? It has been a whole month that I have been a mum to three little people! He has celebrated by having a clingy few days – obviously loves his mama loads! In the past it would have stressed me out not being able to get anything done, but I’m embracing it all and have been wearing him in a sling. He is bringing me so much joy, he could have a happy list all to himself!

So what else has been making me smile this week?

– A successful party. I did it – I managed to entertain 40 kids and not collapse (until later that day). Everyone enjoyed themselves, especially the birthday girl, so all the stress was worthwhile.

– My husband. Mr F is one of those people who love to learn. I am not one of those people and couldn’t think of anything worse than opening up a text book and writing an essay. He’s spent the last few years doing qualification after qualification and Tuesday saw him graduate from the latest one. I was so proud seeing him in his cap and gown.

– Wonderful readers. I met someone who reads my blog – such a funny feeling I can tell you. She had such lovely words to say and is going to be having her third baby soon so has been following my journey as a mum of 3. And if you are reading this then thank you so much, you really made my day 🙂

– Time with Lils. Baby is a great napper and obviously Gracie is at school, so I am able to spend one to one time with my littlest girlie. She is so lovely at the moment, she makes me laugh every day!

– eBay. I’ve been selling a few baby bits. I’d hoarded quite a few dresses etc.. from the girls just in case we had a girl. It has taken me this long to get around to selling them but I’ve already made £40 so I am chuffed with that!

– Tidy house. After forgetting to brush Gracie’s hair, picking her up to find her teacher had lent her a hairband, I decided to tidy the house top to bottom. Tidy house, tidy mind my mum always says and she is right. The house is tidier than it has been for months and I definitely feel more in control.

The rest of the week is a bit of a blur! I am trying to get back into writing again but it is so difficult with a baby. I know I have already taken on too much again and will end up stressed about deadlines but I am going to pretend it will be ok and hopefully it will become true haha!

I think you are doing amazing and I am not sure I could entertain 40 kids with no baby!! I agree with the tidy house, tidy mind. I have been making an effort to keep more on top of things and found it really helps. Thanks for hosting x

A month old already! Hugely well done on the party, I know I’d be worried about entertaining 40 kids and I’m not even a mum to newborn! Well done to Mr F too. I love eBaying stuff too – I’m holding onto so much baby stuff at the moment for potential number 2, but I can’t wait to start making some money back! Thanks so much for hosting

Sounds like you are doing a fabulous job as a mummy of 3. And don’t worry we all have weeks when everything gets forgotten, I have forgot about hair brushing before too… I don’t know how we manage to forget because she looks like she has been dragged through a bush before its brushed but its happened. x

Sounds like you’ve a had a busy week! I still don’t know how you managed a party with such a tiny baby. You can definetly use baby brain as an excuse for forgetful behaviour. I still use it now and my youngest is 2. Good luck with the writing x

I can’t believe how quickly you’ve got back into blogging already! I’ve not even noticed a gap in the amount you’ve been writing, so I wouldn’t worry about that! You seem to have been doing incredibly well. Well done to Mr F too. he sounds like my hubby, very brainy and inspiring!
Ooh, it’s nice to get organised isn’t it, I’ve been trying to clear out some kid’s clothes too, though don’t feel am doing it very whole heartedly! You’ve inspired me to go and have a tidy up though – absolutely right, a tidy house is a tidy mind. So with that I’m off to tidy my mind – he he! x

What a lovely post. It really is nice when you get to spend quality time with the children instead of constantly running about with chores, work, etc. Just to sit and enjoy x

I do think that sometimes we get so busy that we get used to being busy and somehow we just get stuff done anyway! It’s that thing of “ask a busy person…”! I love to be busy and thrive on it. For me, one of the most time-consuming things to do is brush our daughter’s hair for school and tie it back. I love weekends because often it doesn’t get brushed until we go somewhere! Thanks for hosting #HappyDaysLinky

wow one month congrats she is divine! One on one time is so precious and not easy when you have a few cute kiddies . I always say having a tidy house helps when my mind feels disorganised too. Lovely list xx #happydayslinky

Wow you will get there Katy, I swear it took me 3 months to feel like I was in the swing of things with a newborn. Can’t imagine newborn + 2! Keep up with the little squishes and relax whenever you can. Thanks for hosting happydays
