Happy Days: First Smiles, Apple Crumble And Happy Tears

Welcome to HappyDays! The idea of this linky is to inspire others to make the best out of every day, to see the happy in the little things. As no matter what, there is always something good in every single day- we just need to take the time to see it. Share your happy posts, Sian and I love to read them!

I wasn’t sure I was going to get this done – Wills has been a bit of a moaning minnie all day and I feel as though he has fed non-stop! That’s the thing about working from home isn’t it, the lines blur and you never truly switch off from either role. Thankfully he is snoozing beside me (thank you dummy!) and I am able to try and remember what on earth we’ve done this week!

I’ve felt a bit stressed this week actually, not for any reason other than the fact I’ve gone out. When we are home and do nothing I feel like I can get on top of housework and that helps me to de-stress. When we go out, the house goes to pot and I feel like I am not coping with anything. So silly really as none of it matters does it? As long as the children are happy then I am doing a good job, right?

So what has been making me smile this week?

– Blogging opportunities. I cried on Tuesday when an amazing opportunity landed in my inbox. I am always a little bit amazed when I get chosen for campaigns, I’m just me and the fact that people enjoy what I write about is just mind boggling.

– Family. I am really lucky that some of Mr F’s cousins had babies the same time as me. One has 3 children, all the same age as mine. She came over on Tuesday and we had a nice catch up. So lovely being able to chat kids/toddlers/babies and have someone going through every single stage with you.

– Smiles. Wills gave me his first smile! Well, I say me, it was actually directed at his cot mobile….. we’ll pretend it was me though. He has since given me lots of smiles so I will forgive him for giving his first to the red parrot!

– Fashion. I am on a mission to get myself trendy. I have really let myself go to pot over the last few years. To be honest it has been over the past 12 years I’d say. Enough is enough and I am going to start making more time for me. I went shopping on Monday (I think it was Monday…) and got a new coat, some boots and a couple of tops and feel better already.

– Apple crumble. Now that I am in some sort of routine again, I am trying to do more baking with the girls. We made flapjacks last weekend and yesterday we made crumble. They’ve been on at me to make it all week after we went apple picking last weekend but it was fun and the crumble was delish!

– Catch-ups. One of my mummy friends came round for a couple of hours on Wednesday with her little girl. Lils and P are such cute besties, it has been so lovely to see their friendship grow since they were babies.

– My pressure cooker. Go look on my FB page and you’ll catch a live video I did yesterday. I cooked a whole chicken in 35 minutes. Madness I tell you!

There is one more thing that has made me really smile this week, something I ordered for me and Wills. I am going to write about it though and don’t want to spoil the surprise – haha that makes it sound waaaaay more exciting than it is but I am so in love with it I want to tell everyone about it. Well, specifically those with babies but you’ll all be like ooooooh wish I’d had one. And if you don’t well just pretend ok? 🙂

Right, he’s woken up so I have to go. Will try and get as many comments done as possible but will catch up tomorrow if he won’t settle.

Have a good weekend!

Lovely times. We've been eating lots of apples from our garden - crumble, plus anything else apple really to try and get them used up.

Oh what a lovely week you've had Katy - yay for blogging opportunities and first smiles are so magical. I haven't joined in with #HappyDaysLinky for so long and I do miss it - hopefully I'll be back again at some point though when life is a little less crazy! Thanks for linking up to the Linky Linky :-)

I wish cleaning de-stressed me usually the opposite. I do love your photo of Wills even if he wasn't too happy that day. Glad you are ok about the op. Great week x
