Inside: Great online classes for kids to enjoy while at home

With schools closed for the foreseeable, technology and online communities are rallying together to provide online classes for various subjects and interests. With so many available I wanted to provide a list of as many as I could find and will update it each week with extra ones that spring up.

Every day

P.E with Joe at 9am Mon – Fri – Live on his YouTube channel.

Tumble Tots 10am Mon – Fri – Live on their Facebook page

Play Hooray play-along-live 10am Mon-Fri – Live from her Facebook page.

Glasgow Science Museum 10am Mon – Fri – Live on their Facebook page.

Mattie and Mimi’s Music class Mon-Fri at 10.30 (I think) for music lessons – live on their Facebook page.

Captain Fantastic with fitness and wellbeing classes 11am for little ones and 11.30am for 8+ Mon-Fri (I think) – Live from their Facebook page.

Oti Mabuse dance lessons every day 11.30am for kids (and 7.30pm for adults) – live on her Facebook page.

Phonics with Ruth Miskins Mon – Fri with Sounds Set 1 at 9.30 am (GMT), Set 2 at 10.00 am and Set 3 – 10.30 am – Live on her YouTube channel and available for 24 hours afterwards.

Mo Williams Lunchtime Doodles 5pm GMT- Live on The Kennedy Center YouTube.

Harptoons Publishing Art with Steve Harpster 6pm GMT Mon – Fri – Live on their Facebook page.

Safari Tours with Cincinnati Zoo 7pm GMT every day – Live on their Facebook page.

David Walliams is uploading a new audiobook from The World’s Worst Children series every day for 30 days from The World of Walliams website.

Occasional days

Theo Cooks live cookalongs 4pm Mon & Weds – Live on Instagram and Youtube.

Dazzle & Fizz baby & toddler class Mon, Weds, Thurs & Fri various times – Live on their Facebook page for now but they are creating a YT channel.

Wee Bookworms storytime every Saturday 11.30am – live on their Facebook page.


One-off special classes

Steve Backshall (Deadly 60) Wednesday 25th March 9:30am GMT – Live on Facebook, Instagram AND YouTube (yet to be set up).

History Lesson from a secret WW2 Bunker, Weds 25th March 1pm – Live on the Western Approaches HQ Facebook page.

The Gruffalo free storytelling Wednesday 25th March 3pm – Tiny T’s Storytelling & Theatre Facebook page

Lingotot South Staffordshire French lessons Saturday 28th March 9.30am – Free sign up on their website.

    This is such a good list thank you lovely, I have been a bit overwhelmed with trying to organise learning for my two as they are such different ages being 9 and 2! I have saved the Dazzle and Fizz and David Walliams links – might buy me an hour or two of no screaming! Take care and be safe xx
