Gift Ideas For Father’s Day 2017

Father’s Day is fast approaching and if you are anything like me you will be suddenly panicking about what on earth you can get! Men are notoriously difficult to buy for and I will admit to buying socks and chocolate most Father’s Days for my own dad. I have tried really hard with Mr F, to get things that he will really like, things that are useful or quirky!

I have been scouring around for great gift ideas and have been trying them out (some behind his back), to bring you the best picks for Father’s Day 2017…

Technology

Echo Dot –

Isn’t technology amazing? The Dot is a voice controlled device which goes by the name Alexa. She can play music, answer questions and the best thing for us is that she controls our lighting. We have connected her up to our Phillips Hue system so that she will now turn them on and off when asked. Honestly it is just genius!

TrackR keyring –

We are always losing our keys, it drives us all bonkers! I have always wished that I could track my keys in the same way as my phone and now I can! The TrackR is a small device that just clips on like a normal keyring. You can then use the app to locate the keys, either by distance indicator or by making a sound. The best bit though, is that you can also press the device to find your phone – it works both ways! There are so many amazing features – it is a great gift idea!

Fashion

Ellie Ellie jumpers –

We worked with Ellie Ellie on an Easter campaign earlier in the year and so know the great quality of these jumpers. I love a slogan so this #Dadlife sweatshirt is just fab! They even have matching #Kidlife ones too! Love it!

PJs –

I was never one for pyjamas but I really love snuggling on the sofa with the kids, all of us in our pjs watching DVDs. Are you the same? These cyberjammies are so soft, perfect for lazy Father’s Day snuggles.

Accessories

Sunglasses –

Well summer is here isn’t it? I got some gorgeous sunnies from Vision Direct (you may have spotted them on Instagram or my Instagram Stories. Mr F saw mine and wanted some aviators for himself. He will be so pleased when he sees them! His are by SUUNA in a gunmetal and mine are French Connection if you fancy a pair too.

Bracelet –

When I first met Mr F he had loads of festival bracelets up his arm. These days he just has his Fitbit and so I saw this Nomination Tribe Bracelet and immediately thought of him. It looks like lots of rope bracelets but in a strong polyester so will last and last.

Backpack –

For years and years he has been sporting a free backpack he was given when we joined a gym – I always have my head in my hands when he goes out with it. I decided it was high time he got a decent rucksack so chose this The North Face one from Millets. It has loads of pockets and is also perfect for a nappy bag when he has Wills to himself.

Homemade

Now this is from last year but it has been a Pinterest sensation so wanted to share it again for you!

and last but not least…

Sweets

Well if you are going to get sweets you have to go retro don’t you? These personalised sweet jars from Getting Personal are great – we have just put ‘daddy’ on ours.

So there we have it, a few ideas for you this Father’s Day. For us, technology and sweets are always a win but I do love to take the opportunity to modernise his style too!!

I was sent samples for some products listed here but all thoughts are words are my own.

I always struggle with Father's Day as it is a couple of days after Mr C's birthday! It's his birthday today and I have managed to get him some presents for that but not for Father's Day. This has given me some great ideas. I love the look of the Dot from Amazon and I think my husband would be very impressed with Alexa! However, Mr C is a real sweetie man too. Ooooh lots of ideas.

I think you've just solved my Father's Day problem. That Echo Dot is perfect for my husband and I've never seen it before. Add in those retro sweets and he will be in dad heaven!

Ohh that Retro sweet jar is ace, I'd enjoy that rather than my husband. I think I'd have to get him a new backpack as his is about 25 years old now and falling apart! Mich x

It's so hard to know what to get for dads - I have the same problem deciding. These are some wonderful ideas. The backpack from Millets looks great. As do the stylish sunglasses. It's not long until Father's Day now!
