Tis the season… to wear Christmas jumpers and velvet dresses! Hurrah!
I am SO excited that it is December. I mean it has come out of nowhere as usual but at the same time I feel like we’ve been waiting ages to get into the festive spirit. Do you know what I mean?
December brings Christmas parties, trips to the garden centre to meet Santa and a whole load of festive activities that make me smile from ear to ear. Besides gift shopping… that leaves me in need of a hot chocolate and a mince pie!
With all of the festivities, I like to get into the spirit with what I wear and the lovely people at White Stuff invited me to choose a couple of pieces to see me through the season.
With my new approach to wearing and buying clothes, I want to focus on key pieces, those that tie in quality and multi-purpose usage. I don’t want to buy something, wear it once and leave it to hang in my wardrobe for the rest of eternity!
So, for festive dinners, family visits and our annual carol service I chose the gorgeous Empress dress in a deep red.
I am loving the velvet trend at the moment and although I won’t be stepping out in it on a school run, it works for a dress and I will wear it over and over again.
I wore it to go for a meal with my family, pairing it with a leather jacket, ankle boots and a shoulder bag for a slightly more casual look.
But it worked equally as well in heels (difficult to see with my tights on) and a clutch for a date night with Mr F.
I know it will get a lot of use this season and many more to come!
And what about during the day? Well, who doesn’t love a festive jumper?
White Stuff have brought out this gorgeous Foxy Franz charity jumper for the season. So not only do you get to wear a cute knit the whole of winter, you also help support local charities too.
I really love that it isn’t overly festive, meaning I can wear it well beyond Christmas and for many winters to come. Classics never go out of style!
So there we have it – two pieces to add to your wardrobe that can be enjoyed again and again. And you know being White Stuff that they will last too.
What pieces will you be wearing this winter?
I was gifted these items in return for this feature but as always, all words and thoughts are my own.
