Hurrah for sunny weather again! So nice isn’t it? I do feel like we are nearing the end of summer now though so each sunny day needs to be grabbed with both hands.
We love going to our local splash park but actually haven’t managed to go much at all over the last few weeks, I think being on holiday splashed us right out! However, we have managed to go a couple of times and hopefully we can squeeze in one more visit before the summer is out!
The thing I love about splash parks is the fact that I can leave my girls to it – unlike swimming pools where I spend the whole time worrying if LJ is swallowing her weight in chlorine or Little G is going out of her depth!
The girls always have such a lovely time and I can sit and watch them (have a natter with my friend) knowing they are safe. They are both really sensible too which is great, they never run off and know to be where I can see them at all times.
I say they never run off but LJ is always such a monkey and runs off as soon as she is naked! What is it with kids and loving their clothes off? I can think of nothing worse! Her little swim nappy is from Aldi – so cute isn’t it? No nasty leaks which is exactly what you need! My friend joked actually that every time her little girl is in a swim nappy she starts squatting- and sure enough we looked over and there she was!! Hahaha!!
I tell you what, with other children in the frame and Little G running around like a crazy person it was hard getting a photo of her at all! She is so independent, she spent the whole time making ‘friends’ (and then telling them what to do… not sure where she gets her bossy side from….).
LJ is normally quite clingy but splash parks are the one time she feels like she can be free. So nice seeing her jump about laughing and smiling! She wasn’t afraid of getting wet at all and even when she had turned blue with cold she was still busy splashing away!
We are lucky that the splash park is situated in a lovely park which is perfect for picnics and playing in the trees. It also has beautiful lakes which has ducks and geese for the girls to ooooh and aaaaah over.
Just love their little dresses, so so pretty! Their hats don’t especially match but they just looks so typically English in the whole outfit.
This isn’t the best photo but it captures a moment that I just loved watching. Little G kept running around to catch up with her friend but her hat kept blowing off. She then decided to run the whole time holding onto it and looked so cute- it reminded me of old English movies with ladies in their big hats. I don’t know, I just loved it.
The whole day was just lovely, I really hope there are more days like that left!
Have you got a splash park near you?
We were sent some Aldi nappies to try but we genuinely love them and as a,ways all thoughts and words are my own.
