Don’t Panic!!

I am sitting here trying not to worry, but I cannot help it. Certain things cause me to enter panic mode and until those things are resolved I cannot focus on anything. I sit there in turmoil. My mum always says KEEP CALM, DON’T PANIC! (She actually shouts in a comedy way, not sure why).

Plenty of scenarios cause me to enter this irrational state of mind. In the past I have worried that I have upset someone, whether this be on Facebook, on Twitter or heaven forbid in actual real life! These things always tend to happen of an evening so I have to wait a whole night, tossing and turning, until it can be sorted out. Usually I have nothing to fear and I have wasted a whole sleep for nothing!!

One time, Little G’s 2nd birthday actually, I had a complete meltdown as the present we had bought her- a kitchen from Toys R Us had a part missing. Stupidly we had not checked and so the night before when Mr F went to put it all together we realised the tap was missing. Cue me, in tears, panic mode in full swing- birthday ruined!! Would they replace it? Or would they even have it in stock? I got no sleep that night and at 7am I woke up in preparation to ring them at 9am. All was fine and we went to get the new tap. Crisis averted. She never knew any different- she is 2 for Pete’s sake!

So what is it this time? My crumby netbook runs at such a naff speed blogging is made very difficult. It takes me an hour to do something that would take anyone else 10 minutes. So I decided to dig out my old desktop, get it up and running. It runs Windows XP and does not have wi-fi it is that old! Mr F told me to go get a dongle thingy so today I took the girls for the weekly shop. That is a post all in itself!!

Damn thing!

I get home, plug it all in. Nothing. Great. I ring up the support helpline and get through to a human- although I am sure she might have been half robot! 19 minutes later (and countless ££ spent on an 0845 call) and the internet is up and running. Phew! Go to my blog page only to find it cannot be opened as XP is no longer supported by many pages, incuding windows update! Brilliant!!

So what am I worrying about? Well, can I take it back? I hate wasting money and although £17.99 may not sound like much to some people but to us that is too much to just throw away. I also tore the box a little when I opened it- will that affect my refund? Why is it Sunday? Why do shops shut at 4pm when I neeeeed to take something back!?!

So now I am sitting here in panic mode, cannot focus on anything, I can hear my mum shouting ‘DON’T PANIC!’ but I can’t help it.
