Decorating Cakes With ‘I Just Love It’

I have been to quite a few blogging events and each one has been different. Last week I went to London to the I Just Love It event and had so much fun! I came away with a big smile on my face and a bottle of Champagne!

The event was to celebrate the relaunch of the brand with the new name and a chance to have a look at their range up close. With Christmas coming up I am on the look out for different gifts and I love anything personalised so I knew I was going to love everything.

Before we could do anything it was time to tuck into some very delicious cookies- fresh out of the oven! I honestly could have eaten the lot and it has reminded me I need to bake more at home!

Behind us were huge shelves, full of beautiful gifts. I have spotted a few things I am going to add to my Christmas list for sure! I find it so hard to shop for Mr F but there were quite a few things I knew he would like, including the huge jar of sweets!

Once everyone had arrived it was time to do some personalisation of our own. We were shown into the kitchen area at the back and listened carefully to what we had to do. I am a huge fan of decorating cakes and always make my own for the girls’ birthdays. We were given one large cake and a few little cupcakes to decorate and given lots of tools to get the job done!

First up – dipping strawberries in chocolate!

I used the strawberry to decorate the top of my my large cake. Unfortunately the piping bag (and yes I am going to blame the tools) let me down and my handwriting went a little bit wobbly!

We were told that one of our cakes was to be submitted for judging at the end. I may have got a little competitive and made a Christmas tree cupcake! Easy enough to do, just layer it up until you have a little tree shape. I added a few decorations and attempted a star on top and crossed my fingers!

Would you know it, I only went and won didn’t I? There was some stiff competition too- especially from Baby (Aby’s little girl) – her mountain of sweets was a beaut! I was presented with a bottle of personalised Champagne! Woo hoo!!

I had such a fun day, I haven’t laughed so much in ages! Thanks to all of the I Just Love It team for inviting me along!
