Lights can completely transform a space and give a warm cosy feel when the sun goes down. We’ve recently moved house and wanted to add some interest to our garden, with decorative lights in various places.
Lights4Fun have such a fantastic range of lights to choose from. They have fairy lights, lanterns and even cool signs that light up to add some fun to a space.
We were sent a few different styles and they have really made our garden feel as though time and thought has gone into the design.
Who are Lights4Fun?

Choosing the right light for the space
Our garden is quite long, so I wanted to use decorative lights to break up the space a little – adding interest as you look down from the house.
This pack of 4 solar lanterns make such a statement, don’t they? Even without being lights they simply brighten up the space and add a playful element to the garden.
At night they come alive and look incredible! We have some seating just to the side and they throw just enough light to allow you to sit and enjoy the space. And then when you go inside, they simply add a lovely glow down the garden.

We are also lucky enough to have an awning that covers our patio. I knew I wanted to make it into a feature and so decided upon some vintage style festoon lights.
In the day, they dangle down and look pretty – I love the shape of the bulb!
At night they make such a difference to the feel of the space. In the past we tried candles but it still felt a bit too dark to be sitting outside. But now the space feels inviting – we’ve spent so many evenings out there!
I wanted to add some lights to our front garden to frame the space so chose some Edwardian solar stake lights.
In the day, they just make the space look so much smarter – I was so shocked at what a difference they made. They just make the space look finished.
When the sun goes down we can see them happily glowing from our front window – they are the perfect addition.
I also chose a Porto solar lantern bundle so that we can use them wherever we need them.
In the day, they can be placed in a decorative way to add interest where needed. And then at night, we have been using them wherever we are sitting and they give off a lovely glow.
The candles also flicker as if they were real candles, which is a nice addition to have.
Solar vs mains
All of the lights we chose were solar as we have a south facing garden that gets plenty of light to charge them during the day.
If you have a shaded garden or would want to use the lights in the darker months, you would probably want to use battery or mains connected lights.
For us though, solar is enough and I will put them into storage during the winter months, ready to make their appearance again the following spring!
