Blogging is a wonderful way to earn money while being at home but it isn’t as easy as it looks. If you don’t have a community of likeminded bloggers to keep you motivated and to help you find inspiration then you may struggle to keep going.
A blogging community is a great way to connect with other people on the same journey as you, to bounce ideas and share resources to help you build your audience and increase your income.
I have been part of a wonderful blogging community for the past few years and it has made a huge impact on my blog and my life.
What is a blog community?
There are many ways to find a community but it can be quite difficult to integrate yourself into a group if the existing members have known each other for a long time. Groups will form around a theme, either by blog topic or perhaps simply through starting the journey at the same time.
The idea behind forming these groups is to help bloggers form connections that working alone doesn’t allow for. These connections could be simple friendships to support you along the way, or to share ideas and resources to help build your brand. You can collaborate together to share audiences and also share backlinks to help with search rankings with Google.
Blogging can be very lonely at times and so having a network to turn to with any questions or just for a pick-me-up is essential to keeping yourself motivated.
The benefits of a community
A community can be the difference between taking your blog full-time to quitting altogether. A great community can:

- Generate ideas

Finding a community
The first question to ask yourself is what do you want from a community? Do you want to earn more money through shared knowledge? Do you want to join an all female community? Do you want to join a community specific to your niche?
Once you know what you are looking for, you can begin to seek out groups that may be a good fit. Facebook is a great place to start, simply search “blog community” and you’ll be greeted by a list of options.
Some communities will simply exist in a free Facebook group, but others will offer subscriptions and memberships so that you can really get the best support.
