I don’t know how my children compare to most but I feel like they catch a cold every couple of weeks! We just get over one illness, brave leaving the house and then bam- someone else passes on their germs to us and the whole process starts again!
Every single time Little G gets ill it goes onto her chest and we have to trek down to the doctors to get antibiotics. I swear they think I am some sort of neurotic mother but the stethoscope always confirms my suspicions- another chest infection.
When Bio-Kult contacted me and asked whether I would like to try their product ‘Bio-Kult Infantis’ I jumped at the chance! Anything that could help build a better immune system is worth investigating.
You will have all heard of the little bottles of friendly bacteria- neither of mine can have these as they both have issues with dairy. Bio-Kult is gluten free but contains traces of soya and milk (at a level which will not affect lactose intolerance sufferers). Baby L is fully dairy allergic so could not take part in the review but Little G was able to have it every day.
So, does it work?
Our guts contain trillions of live bacteria and they play an essential role in supporting and maintaining a strong immune and digestive system. Bio-Kult Infantis contains 7 strains of live bacteria plus omega 3 and vitamin D3. It comes in little sachets which can be mixed in with water/ squash so the child doesn’t even notice they are taking anything. I like this as it means no force feeding of medicine or yogurt drinks that may taste funny.
How did we get on?
I have been giving Little G the sachets for the past month and she had been in full health- obviously this could have been the case with or without taking anything. However, last week she awoke with a blocked nose. As soon as I heard it my heart sank as I knew the trouble that lay ahead. Poorly G means she refuses to eat. If she refuses to eat she gets low blood sugar, low blood sugar triggers her toddler hypoglycemia. This goes on for a couple of weeks and ends in a terrible chesty cough. Great.
This time has been different. After 3 days the cold has begun to clear and the cough has not gone onto her chest. Is this coincience? Maybe, but this is the first time in 2 years and probably close to 10 bouts of illness that we have not had to go to the doctors!!
To me, it suggests that Bio-Kult works! A simple sachet added to a morning drink and you are helping to build a better immune system for your child. An immune system that fights off germs and helps them to get through the winter without using antibiotics! Check out their website for more details or ask at your local pharmacy if you want to give it a try for yourself.
I was sent a box of Bio-Kult in return for my honest opinion but all thoughts are my own.
