A Book For Bedtime

We love reading in our house, both girls love books and always have a bedtime story as well as lots during the day. We are always on the look out for new books to add to our collection so were very excited when we were asked to review a new baby book.

Tuck Me In is perfect for bedtime as it takes you through tucking in baby animals. Each page has a new baby animal and you turn half a page to tuck them up for bedtime. It is quite a simple story, perfect for little ones who are not quite ready for a long story. Little G is a little past that stage now but Little L really enjoyed turning the pages and pointing to each animal.

Reading is such an important part of learning, actually it is THE most important part of learning. Reading lays the foundations to all learning and the more exposure to books a child can get, the better. As a teacher I have seen the effects on learning, with some children never being read to at bedtime.

I can clearly remember, a few years ago, asking my class who had a bedtime story every night and a little boy put his hand up and asked me what a bedtime story was- my heart broke in two. Can you imagine never reading to your children?

It only takes a few minutes a day to look at a book, even talking through the pictures will help your child understand the process of using a book. This story was perfect for Little G to read on her own and she really enjoyed reading to her Little L at bedtime- a lovely bonding moment between two siblings.
