Morning snuggles

When you have a second baby you always think they are going to be a clone of the first. You + daddy = that type of child. Right? That may be true for some families but not ours.

From the beginning of my pregnancy all the way to how she is today, Baby L could not have been more different to her sister. This is not a good or bad thing, both of them are lovely in their own way. It is just so weird that two siblings could be so polar opposite.

Little G is very chatty, Baby L has yet to utter her first word. G is blonde, L is brunette. G is petite, L is.. how shall we say… bonnie! Anyway the list goes on.

From an early age Little G did not respond to hugs. As she was my first born I just assumed that this was normal and that babies must learn how to cuddle at an older age. She finally hugged me when she was 18 months old and it was amazing, it was the same feeling as when they first say Mama! At the age of 3 she is still not very huggy though and runs and hides when you ask for one!

Baby L loves cuddles and this is something I really cherish. She cuddled from day 1, a definite mummy’s girl. The fact that she will almost definitely be my last baby makes every cuddle even more precious.

Every morning she comes into my bed (if she hasn’t snuck in during the night!) and we snuggle under the covers until Little G wakes up. Sometimes she will crawl to the end of the bed to nosey around but she always comes back and lays down on me for a quick cuddle.

I hope that she will always stay my cuddly little girl as although I myself am not the most touchy feely person I love those special moments.
